Knut, the once-cute celebrity polar bear turned vicious killer, is at the center of a controversy over his brutal slaughter of ten carp at the Berlin Zoo. The massive polar bear, who has lived at the zoo since birth, apparently fished the carp out of the moat surrounding him and ripped them to shreds in front of several disgusted zoo patrons.
One of Germany's top newspapers, Bild, ran the headline "Knut Embroiled in Carp Scandal," and featured an article which quoted animal rights groups who criticized zoo officials for placing live animals within Knut's reach.

They need to put a couple of seals in there with him!
Yeah, I can’t tell is this is straight-faced or more like something out of Scrappleface.
zombie bear pic stolen!
LOL
You mean, Polar Bears aren’t vegetarians?
Knocked the carp out of the moat, eh?
I think they were put there to keep the moat algae free.
Typical white guy.
Upset over five carp? What if it had been five baby fur seals?
Apparently, to control the algae. It's kind of like putting mice in a cat's bowl to clean up stray bits of cheese, huh?
Knut was introduced to the world early last year after he was rejected by his birth mother. Following the decision to raise the animal in captivity, zookeepers showed off Knut to audiences worldwide.
Recently, however, Knut reminded the public that polar bears are not domesticated animals — but rather wild, strong creatures that sometimes even hunt human beings.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelologus
Knut’s just bitter.
I like that!
>>”Knuts just bitter.”
Yes, but he doesn’t have guns or religion to “cling to.”
So, he has to hate folks (carp) who “don’t look like him.”
Better not let any immigrants into his pen.... or globalists...

Probably as something to keep him occupied, as well as for nutritious snacks. I'm sure that it's cheaper, easier, and less traumatic to the public than keeping the mote stocked with seals. Remember, we're dealing with the top predator of the arctic here. In addition to keeping him fed, they also need to provide him with something to keep him occupied as well, otherwise they get a seriously disturbed animal. After all, he's a polar bear. He can't get on the Internet and Freep!
