Good morning!

It's turned chilly again.

Violent storms struck the county's mid-section on Friday.

Bill Clinton, much to his wife's ahem, annoyance, brought up the fake Bosnia story again yesterday, and Obama's comments about rural PA voters drew criticism. His arrogance and high level of self-importance and self-regard are more and more apparent.

My wife and I were in our University Center (Student union) Friday night to attend a dinner and theater performance, when we came across a student mural. It depicted 3 pictures of the elder President Bush, and two of President George W. Bush. Above the pictures were the words Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The last picture had Nazi flags surrounding President George W. Bush.

Not only does it mock President Bush, but it also mocks the Holy Trinity.

It seems the only ones angry these days are the libs.

I would think that the University people would have enough sense to see that this depiction crosses the line of decency.

Good morning, everyone!

This morning Monsigneur told us in the homily that we are to listen to the Pope as Vicar of Christ, even if we don’t necessarily like what he tells us. He pointed out that Pope John Paul went to Poland for the last time and admonished the Polish people for falling into materialism and ignoring the moral precepts of the Church. He also had a great story about Pope John Paul shaking his cane at someone who was shouting about what his next encyclical should be, and telling the man “You don’t tell the Pope what to say.” LOL!

I see the Fox people are totally clueless about Pope Benedict. They are talking about how he needs to bridge the gap between himself and the youth of the Church and how no one here knows very much about him. Unfortunately, FR doesn’t have a rolling eyes smiley I could use here.

My lips are sealed. Did enjoy the discussion, however.

Good Morning!

Agreed. More of the intellectual absence that roams the universities.

Good morning Jemian! Happy fourth Sunday after Easter!

FWIW, and just jumping in here, I used to live in Greensburg, PA.

Where is Greensburg?

If he’s nominated but not elected you can be sure the media will be tsk-tsking about how white Americans just can’t accept a person of color.

Even if that person is a racist elistist leftist con man.

IIRC, Pope Benedict has a LOT of experience with Catholic youth, involvement in directing of vast programming etc.

I meant to add tha Mr. Prairie is feeling better. He still has to rest extra but we did just return from playing 9 holes of golf. It’s a gorgeous morning here.

Will be watching the last round of the Masters this afternoon. How about that Immelman!! Will be interesting to see if he can keep his cool or if he melts down on the final day.

Well, I like Stephen Hayes’ reporting in the WS, and I like Andrew Ferguson. But I agree with you on Kristol. Fred Barnes also makes me ill, especially since he defended ALL of the Frist/Hastert/Murtha/Stevens Congressional version of ‘Who wants to be a [B]illionaire?’...in fact, there are only two guys from Harvard that I can stand, Charles Krauthammer (Harvard Med) and Tommy Lee Jones...;-))

I am still trying to figure out what Nobamination's strategy is to get the crossover votes he needs, from typical white people and others, to actually get elected. So far I can't see any.

In fact, it is almost as if he is getting in the country's collective face and demanding that he be elected because he 'deserves' it somehow, whether you 'get him' or you don't -- he thinks he's entitled.

Here is were Der Schlickmeister was a master: Near the end of his first campaign he made the famous pitch, 'I will NOT balance the budget on the backs of Senior Citizens!' Remember that? He was lying, of course. But where is Nobamination's pitch to the other side? To ANY side not already his base? He seems almost petulant about how people should just swoon and fall over dead in the presence of his majesty and brilliance...;-))

Does anyone have an opinion on Oliver Stone's “World Trade Center”?

I don't like his stuff, but am inclined to watch this one.
