Australia is a wonderful vacation destination. Some of the friendliest people I have ever met. If I had to live anywhere else on the planet, it would be Australia. I felt so at home and welcomed there. Unlike the people in so many other foriegn countries, the Aussies truly like Americans. I'd definitely love to go back for another visit if, like you, I win the lottery. ;-)
Glad to hear you are feeling better, Poetgal.

Im disappointed ..... the day we took a drive to see the wildflowers was a dud. Well, that's the problem, you never know when in the spring they will be blooming. We have seen some nice displays up on the Grapevine, but we've just happened upon them as we were going down to LA. There would be a lot of patches of wildflowers here and there. I've seen nothing like the wildflower display in that photograph.

I must quit procrastinating ...... I will be out most of the day. I must work on my taxes! Uggg.
I will be off and on today. Tonight is another PTA meeting.
It has been cold here. Brrrr
Temps have been 65 with wind, but good news ..... it should get up to 85 this weekend. We will probably really suffer from this abrupt change.

We will probably really suffer from this abrupt change. Not me. I am ready for it!! Bring it on. 85 degrees sounds just right.
I don't envy you having to do your taxes, Amy. What a way to ruin a perfectly good Wednesday. :-(

Anytime I've seen lots of wildflowers, we just happened upon them. We've seen them on the Grapevine and east of Bakersfield in the Tehachapi’s (sp?).

Yes, we’ve seen them also heading up to Tehachapi. That is a beautiful drive almost any time of the year.

In commemoration of Chinese Almond Cookie Day, here are some actual Chinese Cookie fortunes--even though there is no fortune in almond cookies:
Confucius say you have heart as big as Texas.
You have an unusual equipment for success, use it properly.
Man who eat crackers in bed wake up feeling crummy.
Because of your melodic nature, the moonlight never misses an appointment.
Failure is not falling down but refusing to get up.
You will gain admiration from your pears.
The wise adapt themselves to circumstances, as water moulds itself to the pitcher.
Never wear your best pants when you go to fight for freedom.
A starship ride has been promised to you by the galactic wizard.
You love Chinese food.
Someone will invite you to a Karaoke party.
Dont behave with cold manners.
Help! I am being held prisoner in a Chinese bakery.
Dont forget you are always on our minds.
From the same people holding the prisoner?
What you left behind is more mellow than wine.
There is no mistake so great as that of being always right.
Never forget a friend. Especially if he owes you.
A tub and a rub will change your day.
Suppose you can get what you want.
Eat your vegetable and you will be strong like Popeye.
A closed mouth gathers no feet.
Consolidate your interest while the lights are active.
Its about time I got out of that cookie.

We went to Brisbane for the International Rotary Convention and stayed for a week, then went down to Sydney and spent a couple days there. There is so much of Australia to see and we were only there for 10 days, but long enough to know that we'd would love to go back.
Actually, we did get to do and see quite a bit. I got to cuddle a koala at a koala preserve, and feed some kangaroos and wallabies and "Lorikeets" there, saw a sheepdog herding demonstration and got to hear Aborigines play the didjeridu. We saw sites in Sydney; the Opera House, took a ferry ride around the harbor, etc. I don't think we could have packed much more into our short stay.
The only thing I wish we could have done is climbed the Sydney Harbor bridge. We watched people walking up over the highest part and I was so very envious, but I was afraid I might not be physically able to make it up there with my breathing problems. A few years ago I would have done it, for sure.
What a spectacular view! Doesn't this look like it would be a great experience?
This is a photo my husband took of the Sydney Harbor Bridge. I think those might be bridge climbers at the very top....it's hard to tell in this photo...

How Sweet, Amy! Marissa's Artwork is Excellent!
I Found a Cute Kity Pic on the 'Net, Cropped it, Framed it, and Wrote a Caption it for Marissa. I'm Hoping to Find the Time to Learn how to Glitter Pics One of these Days, Lol. I'd Glitter his Ear Outlines, the Large Spot on his Back, and Possibly his Little Nose.
Love in Christ and Hugs to Marissa.

Dear Amy,
I still do my taxes by hand on my own. A friend of mine e-mailed the other day that she likes to use the Turbo Tax software. FWIW!!

The mockingbird plays Attila every summer and dive bombs us from behind unless we make eye contact first.
Yes, I do work at a garden center! I can’t remember who I told what—I can’t lie to save my life! LOL
I’m the greenhouse manager, bookkeeper, parts orderer, cashier, chief cook and bottle washer...but I love it! The greenhouse is hopping this time of year, and keeps me hopping too!
