Over the last ten years or so, I haven’t listened to more than one or two games each year. I was quite jaded by the Dodgers when they slashed and burned the team in the early 1980s. Their treatment of Garvey alone angered me considerably, and I haven’t been back yet.

This year I’m going to try to give the team a little more attention. I grew up a rabid baseball fan. It’s in my blood. It took quite a bit to kill my inclination to be a fan back in the 80s.

Thanks for the post.

Well, I would hope that his day is better than the Yankees’ day. They have started the season with a rain delay.

For me, it was the sale to a corporation as a business venture.

Mine was when Lasorda let Niedenfuer pitch to Jack Clark during that one game playoff. Clark was 0 for 24 and DUE against Niedenfuer. Never let a fast ball pitcher throw to a fast ball hitter when the game is on the line, much less the season.

I took every bit of my Dodger gear and burned it.
