"We have literally busted the myth that people who wear glasses are introverted or have particular personality characteristics," study leader Paul Baird of the University of Melbourne's Centre for Eye Research said in a statement.
"They are more likely to be agreeable and open, rather than closed and introverted."
Utilizing the University of Melbourne's Australian Twin Registry, the study involved 633 twins and a comparative group of 278 family members

Glasses wearer here. But I think we all know a geek or nerd who wears glasses. I'm not one of them, but I will admit to being a little odd. (and that's all I have to say about that)

I’ve always found women in glasses to be attractive, personally. I don’t wear glasses myself (except shades, I have light sensitivity issues).

Maybe not, but take it from EyeGuy there is a definite relationship between myopia(not so much hyperopia or presbyopia of course), and intelligence.

Maybe it’s my imagination but since I threw away my glasses after my Refractive Lens Exchange surgery in December and January, my social life has definitely improved.

Remember that National Lampoon poster, “Are You a Nerd?” That kid lived less than a block from me in Queens. He went to high school with my brother (and later Fordham Law). He showed up for the photo session, and they shot him in the cloths (and glasses) he showed up in. No costume needed.

I wonder if they did a lot of the research in Japan where women even accessorize with fake glasses.

I strongly disagree with Dorothy Parker about girls who wear glasses. They give a woman a certain charm.
