She was captain of her high school cheerleading squad, a nearly straight-A student and a soon-to-be pre-med student at the University of Florida.
But now, 18-year-old Stephanie Kuleba is dead, and her friends and family are pointing to breast augmentation surgery as the cause, The Palm Beach Post reported.
"She was a role model for a lot of people," her friend Vicky Goldring, 16, told the paper. "She was incredibly smart. She wanted to help people. She was just a happy 18-year-old girl."
Kuleba died Saturday of what friends believe were complications from the plastic surgery she had the previous night, though no official cause of death has yet been released, the Post reported.
A friend speaking on behalf of her grieving family told the newspaper that Kuleba had an extreme reaction to the anesthesia.
"The surgery itself was very personal," Perlman told the paper. "She passed away from complications during surgery.
Paramedics were summoned to the teen's aid at the Boca Raton outpatient surgery unit where she'd had the procedure, and they rushed her to Delray Medical Center. She died there on Saturday.
The West Boca High School senior, whom friends described as "perfect" and full of promise and possibilities, was mourned by classmates at a candlelight vigil at the school Sunday night. More than 400 people attended.

the thing is there are plenty of pix of her dressed revealingly, presurgery, and that doesn’t appear to be the case.
I have no problem with that. There are good reasons for cosmetic surgery. It's just that they might account for a percent or two of all procdures done.
When I first read that, I thought you were trying to get a dig in on my Alma Mater.
No, but I know it when I overlook it.

Orthodontic work and breast augmentation are NOT the same thing. Breast augmentation is invasive, violent surgery. It is NOT healthy.
There are several pictures of the young lady posted or available from this thread. I see no evidence of a deformity that would require plastic surgery. Unless proven otherwise, I maintain that this was purely elective, vanity surgery.
It's sad that a young lady felt the need to augment herself and sad that it lead to her death. All so unnecessary.
no, dave saw the same pix i did and realized it was not the case here.
When my oldest daughter was a teen she had a nose she swore was too big. Since it looked fine to us we wondered why all of a sudden she wanted a nose job. Then we found out a few of the girls in school were getting them. She still has her same nose at 28 yrs old & loves it now.
I gotta vote with the “that’s funny dude” people on this one.
Oh, I agree!
I mean, it’s evident even here on a near daily basis that Boobs are extremely important....more so than character, brains or charm.
