Please pray for my dog: she's critically ill [Update: Daisy has passed away]

My beloved dog, Daisy, is critically ill. She has Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia, a disorder that causes her body to attack and kill healthy red blood cells. Her blood levels are well below the normal/low range and her vet now has her in 'critical'. She will have surgery in the next 48 to remove a foreign object she ate- not sure its related to the IMHA at this point.

Sad update:

After a valiant fight against Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia, Daisy succumbed to her illness this morning. While her mind and spirit were willing, her body could no longer fight. I was with her when she passed, and she passed very peacefully. She is now reunited with her feline buddy, Whammy, and is surely chasing squirrels in Heaven, as she waits for me at the Rainbow Bridge. She was the most incredible dog I've every owned. She was my best friend.

Thank you to all who have offered their kind words and prayers during this difficult few weeks.

HA! I’m convinced she’s Dutch... she wouldn’t give up that money for nothing!

UPDATE: Daisy has taken a turn for the worst. She is back at the vet for more tests. I’ll post more when I found out what’s going on.

We grieve not for those who have gone on, for we know where they are. We grieve for ourselves because of the separation.

There is but a thin veil between this one and the next. Always talk to your baby, she can hear you, and see you, not the sadness, but the love.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Tears and prayers here.

All of us who have lost our most loyal of friends know the pain of it, and our hearts go out to you now.

That’s another truly beautiful picture. Thank goodness they leave those moments captured in time, and lots of wonderful memories when they have to go.

God bless and comfort you.

Sorry to hear this, our four footed friends give their love unstintingly and unqualified we cannot help reciprocating.

My dog Digger an 8 year old Blue Heeler has been fighting a several years long battle with Cushings, she has been doing
pretty well but recently has lost a good bit of weight.

My constant and sole companion these last years, what fun we’ve had.
When she was a puppy, I would get on my hands and knees put my elbows on the floor in a play posture and she would go wild, “He speaks my language!!!!”

Will have to take her in for blood work this next week, it’s very pricey but what else can you do for a being that
has loved you so unreservedly for so long.

Tet.

It pains me greatly to hear this about Daisy.

I well understand what she meant to you and the love she must have had for you; in that sense you were both fortunate. Bridget and I send our heartfelt condolences.

I wish someone had given Jesus a dog
As loyal and loving as mine
To sleep by His manger and gaze in His eyes
And adore Him for being divine.

As our Lord grew to manhood His faithful dog
Would have followed Him all through the day
While He preached to the crowds and made the sick well
And knelt in the garden to pray.
It is sad to remember that Christ went away
To face death alone and apart
With no tender dog following close behind
To comfort its Master’s Heart.
And when Jesus rose on that Easter morn
How happy He would have been
As His dog kissed His hands and barked its delight
For The One who died for all men.

Well, the Lord has a dog now, I just sent Him mine
The old pal so dear to me
And I smile through my tears on this first day alone
Knowing they’re in eternity.
Day after day, the whole day through
Wherever my road inclined
Four feet said, “I am coming with you!”
And trotted along behind.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
