I just started receiving this notice when attempting to dl a torrent.

"Error:You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1"

I have no idea what this means nor why it should suddenly appear. Things have always worked very well.
Win XP Pro, SP2 any other questions needed please let know. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like the server hosting the file has the problem. You can reinstall your torrent client and try again. I don’t think SQL has anything to do with the client side, but I have only dealt with BitTorrent.

SQL is buried three layers below anything you can do much about, probably on the backend (the remote server side.)

If some particular torrents you try to download get this, but most others don't, then there is nothing you can do, other than not download those failing torrents. For all practical purposes those torrents no longer exist for you.

Yep...uTorrent. And when I just checked to confirm that, I discovered that somehow, it no longer exists on my system.
I must have done some extra thorough system cleaning.

I'll re-install it and see if this is the prob It probably is.
Thanks, I'll post if it solves the mystery.

It is a hard wire set-up. You might be right about the router. I spoke with my ADSL supplier last night about another issue and we talked about getting a new router to me.

I’m going to reboot with uTorrent installed and set. I’ll post the results in a bit.

I did the new install of uTorrent and did the settings for it. Rebooted and am still getting the message.

Unless you’re running a torrent server yourself, that’s the remote server which is coughing up the error. Contact the admin of that server and ask them to fix it.

Thanks for the help. It looks like I’m back to normal now. I strongly suspect the problem was with my service provider. I may get a new router anyway - this one is 4 + years old. My service rep will get a new one to me if I buy him lunch.

Thanks for the help and suggestions.
