Apple releases Security Update 2008-002

Apple today released Security Update 2008-002 which is recommended for all users and improves the security of Mac OS X.

Previous security updates have been incorporated into this security update.

Security Update 2008-002 is available via Software Update and also as standalone installers.

Apple releases Security Update 2008-02 - PING!

Time to hit the Black Apple (or Blue for non-Leopard users) on the Menu Bar and select "Software update..."

Patch to emacs!! Wow. I haven’t used emacs in 25 years. Last time was on a Dec 20.

I’m still on Tiger. I did a finder search and it is not found.

Is this why so many people are psyched on Leopard?/s

Emacs is an excellent text editor for UNIX and is included in the optional Unix tools that are shipped with every OSX installation. You might notice there are patches for X11 and not every OSX install has that either. Apple will provide updates for everything in the package... installed or not. If you don't have it installed, the software update will skip it until you do.
