With my previous company, I and the only other U.S. citizen programmer were fired from our jobs because of this situation.

That company hired programmers from both India and Russia.

A year later, the company closed down because they could never get the software to work. They had fired the only two people that understood the problem!

I’ve heard that a lot of companies have had to come back around to their American programmers after either outsourcing or hiring a bunch of foreign tech people.

I have had mixed experience with foreign programmers. The biggest thing that I can say is that they either won’t follow directions, or won’t do anything other than what you tell them to do, nothing in the middle like “use your own discretion and creativity within these criteria.”
