I’ve heard that a lot of companies have had to come back around to their American programmers after either outsourcing or hiring a bunch of foreign tech people.
I have had mixed experience with foreign programmers. The biggest thing that I can say is that they either won’t follow directions, or won’t do anything other than what you tell them to do, nothing in the middle like “use your own discretion and creativity within these criteria.”
A friend of mine’s brother-in-law, used to run the California call center for VISA, until they outsourced it to India. Less than a year later, they hired him back, along with his assistant with a very large pay increase. Actually, I think that he may be working as a consultant, naming his own pay.
Foreign programmers have no choice but to do exactly what they are told to do.
I make the impossible become reality, because I refuse to follow directions and never allow anyone to tell me something can not be done.
I have been fighting the system for 35 years now, and I always win.
