South Park season 12 premiere tonight on Comedy Central - Tonsil Trouble - live thread!

Cartmans routine tonsillectomy goes horribly wrong in an all-new episode of "South Park." Coming off record ratings in season 11 and the now infamous Imaginationland trilogy, South Park returns for its 12th season with seven all-new episodes beginning TONIGHT, Wednesday, March 12 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL. Fans will be able to download the uncensored version of each new episode from the 12th season on iTunes, xBox LIVE and Amazon Unbox.
The face of South Park could change forever when Eric Cartman is diagnosed with an incurable disease in the premiere episode, entitled Tonsil Trouble. When the support Cartman is counting on falls short, he has to take matters into his own hands.

Yep. I was thinking it was going to be a 2-parter though.

I don’t quite get the message; is it that HIV is only “curable” if one has a lot of money?
To: sporkgoddess
Wow, that was the worse South Park I’ve seen in a long time.

Not one of their better efforts.
C-.
D+, since it's supposed to be the kick off epi.

Wow, that was the worse South Park Ive seen in a long time. Are you sure it was the worst? I mean, are you HIV positive?
PaMom ducks and runs...(somebody had to throw that line in...and I would give it about a B...mebbe a B minus).

Thumbs in the middle. For a season opener it was a pretty poor effort.

I think that is the point. Maybe a close friend of Matt and/or Trey has been diagnosed with HIV and this was their response to the situation.

I was thinking of the multiple aspects of the whole show. The fact that the liberals ignored justice and fairness by only giving Eric a slight admonishment for intentionally infecting Kyle with a lethal disease. Then making Kyle apologize in turn for not showing compassion and deference to Eric's victimhood. Furthermore, the patronizingly false concern or even lack of regard that the adults displayed toward Cartman and Kyle because their disease is no longer the cause celebre.

There were a lot of subtle messages. (well, subtle for South Park)
Still, not that great for the opener. A solid C

I thought it was brilliant! From the attitudes of the doctors after infecting Cartman, to the court being more worried about Cartman as a victem, to the only cure for AIDS being money.
Matt and Trey skewered the whole HIV/AIDS problem effectively.
That being said, as the season opener, I’d give it a B-

This episode really sucked. But not enough to give up on the boys yet. I'll give them a chance with the next one before I believe this is their Shark Jump.
Someone else above said, maybe Matt or Trey has a friend w/ the dreaded disease? They may have been compelled to give this tribute and note the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune and the hopes and dreams of opposing those troubles.
