I knew a black lady who had a set of twins and called them Orangejello and Lemonjello. No lie.

I knew one who named hers shi’thead, live that down. Other “etnic” names always sound like floor wax of some sort.

That was my first thought. =)

I met a woman who had named her daughter Chlamydia. I am not making this up. She said that she knew what the name meant, but just thought it was such a pretty name.

My Dad used to tell the joke about the woman who named her daughters names that were pronounced See-fillis and Ga-nora, but were spelled Syphilis and Gonorrhea.

I knew a black lady who had a set of twins and called them Orangejello and Lemonjello. No lie. Damn, and I thought the parents of my elementary school classmate 'Dong Dong' and his younger brother, 'Ding Dong' were messed up (also black). Nothing beats 'Gaylord Humperdink' for the terrible name award though.

Wonder if she was eating that while they were conceived....
Gotta tell you they aren’t much far off from the weird ones like Shanikwanda, Shoniqua, Tyrondell, etc etc...

Yes, I have heard these names. Pronounced Or-an-gel-o and La-mon-gel-o. There was a black woman in Monroe, La. that named her kids Taurus (boy) and Chevelle (girl). Where they were conceived, perhaps?

Are you sure that Orangejello and Lemonjello is not just an urban myth?
I ask that because I have seen that example used over and over again in many other forums like Topix, etc and I know you yourself didn’t make all those posts.
Just seems weird to me.

I know an EMT. He told me about a call he was on a few years back, to Chicago’s south side. A woman at the residence he was sent to had named her daughter LaTwat.

That is what blacks do now. They don’t use real names anymore. It is a contest to see who can invent the stupidest name out there today.

I was once assisted at the front desk of a business by a charming young woman who bore the unfortunate appellation, “Latrina”. I always wondered why she didn’t go by her middle name, but then who knows what in the world that was?!
