Most of these are the “smartest” in dumbing down and indoctrinating the “masses”.

His list is entirely too progressive which hints that he's a robot-like, knee-jerk Liberal with excessive interest in shows with strong authority figures.
Raises in my mind a question about the inherent bias found in any sort of testing, and is it true MENSA favors those of a totalitarian bent.

House is a great show as is Frasier.

What do you think?I think this guy either needs a thesaurus, or gets off on using the word, "repartee."

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary.)

My ACT or ASVAB scores qualify me for membership in MENSA; but I hear that it’s a confederation of losers, bitter because they’re “so darn smart” but still live in Mom’s basement, etc..

MR. PEEPERS with Wally Cox was the smartest show ever on tv.
FREAKS AND GEEKS and the original PHIL SILVERS SHOW are right up there too. Many presentations of PLAYHOUSE 90 and THE US STEEL HOUR were very smart. Ditto DEATH VALLEY DAYS hosted by Ronald Reagan and MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000. Just a few I like.

Agreed. In fact, I don't see much intelligence in his choices or his explanations. If he was so smart, he'd probably dump his set and find something better to do.

I think whoever wrote this list should get cable or a dish and get off the networks.. While some of the shows mentioned are fun, I don’t think they are all that ‘intelligent’. CSI’s representation of science is very unrealistic.

I would have included the Simpsons (at least the first five or six seasons), King of the Hill, and the Bob Newhart Show (the one with Suzanne Pleshette). All were well-written and witty. I would not have included All in the Family. It wasn't that smart, but rather was just filled with a lot of heavy-handed social commentary.

There’s more bragging rights in being a former MENSA member, IMO.
And I’ll bet you can guess why LOL!

..the guy thinks cable is the wire running from the wall to his B&W TV.
I had a friend who was riding to a job one day with another guy who was the type who used to get calls in the middle of the night about complex problems with fiber communication equipment...he was considered one of the brightest ever
Anyway on this trip in a carpool, the guy started to look really ill, and my friend asked him if he felt OK, because he was starting to get very red in the face and was sweating profusely. They pulled over to the side of the road to check things out and my buddy reached over and loosen his tie.....within minutes he was find. He had cinched up his tie too tight

Good call on Bob Newhart. The Mary Tyler Moore show was one of my favorites back then. Too bad Lou turned out to be sush a lefty in real life.
