The House Oversight & Govt. Reform Committee holds a third hearing on the use of performance enhancing substances by major league baseball players. Witnesses include MLB player Roger Clemens."
Nostrildamus Waxman just killed Clemens - brought out his old nanny who catches Rog in a lie.

Roger Clemons should have his head examined for retaining and KEEPING this lawyer. He’s incompetent and worse.
In the meantime- as a lifelong Red Sox gal- I can’t STAND Clemons.
The sickest thing about this hearing is how pandering these politicians are. It is really unwatchable, how, instead of just trying to get facts and information, they either gush with inappropriate praise or grandstand with criticism. They are every bit as low and disgusting as Clemens and McNamee
...... Thanx. I just spewed coffee all over the office computer!!!!!
I watched a good bit of this and the main fact coming through is that we have a lame duck Rat run congress.
The attempt to apear relevant is comical.
W will accomplish more
Why the #$%&! are members of Congress wasting their time on this drivel? WHO CARES if ball players are pumping themselves full of steroids? Nobody is forcing anyone to buy tickets to these games or watch them on TV. And nobody is forcing parents to raise their kids to worship major league sports and athletes. We’ve got dangerous conflicts going on all around world, nutcase governments in Iran and NK building nuclear weapons, and global economic crisis, and our congressional representatives are sitting around talking about BALL PLAYERS!!
"Who Framed Roger RabbitClemens?
It was unbelievable..the grandstanding. I’m still trying to figure out what we learned today that we didn’t know before today.
Congress is by turns holier-than-thou and pandering.
Roger Clemens is scum.
Situational ethics are alive and well.
Clemens was not a good witness. Shifting his eyes back and forth, stumbling over words, licking his lips constantly, he did not inspire credibility.
Frankly, I found McNamee more credible, especially with the admissions of Pettitte and Knoblauch.
In my opinion the hearing was about who lies the best. The part I find distrubing is Clemens lets McNamee take his wife in their bedroom behind closed doors for an injection. But Roger had no idea what they were doing.
But I like athletes on steroids. Much more entertaining.
Lots of people have trouble injecting themselves.
I can't believe that Congress is spending time and money on this. I'm with the CNN e-mailer who commented that the hearings remind him of the old House Un-American Activities trying to decide whether Dalton Trumbo was or was not a Communist.
Their answers to those things...well, maybe I would rather they waste their time on steroids. Probably less damage to the country that way.
Democracy is the art and science of running the circus from the monkey cage. ~H.L. Mencken
True, but Clemens portrays himself as some tough guy.
To me it seemed like the Republican congressmen were more out of touch during this hearing. It was a little embarrasing for me the way the they acted. Burton, Foxx, Shay, all were out of touch and at times out of line IMO. Foxx was comparing photographs of Clemens to try to suggest that he didn’t use steroids or HGH, it was sad. Sadly, I have to admit it but the Dem congressmen seemed to control the facts and inject more logic into the hearing.
Sadly I felt the same way. The Republicans looked like shills infatuated with a celebrity. That Clay dude was the one I think that asked what uniform Clemens was going to wear into the Hall of Fame. In all seriousness he should be kicked off the commitee for that pandering remark and the voters in his region should throw him out. What a hack.
I couldn’t agree with you more! I can’t believe they were actually so-called Republican congressman pandering to Clemens. Waxman and Cummings actually came out heroes in this hearing, and Burton, Foxx, and Shay were absolutely disgraceful.
What has happened to our party?
