I use 24 Firefox plugins - I’d need similar plugins to change.

Any word on how the addons for safari are advancing?

Why does it have to be faster? I think it is fast enough. The issue with web performance is bandwidth.

Speaking of that I have had a ton of problems on this road trip finding WiFi. Atlanta and SFO Airports are archaic. I went to the big Apple store in SF and the Mac Airs are really nice... but ... you really need to think about adding the DVD drive, the ethernet adaptor, a video adaptor and for me an office/home extra charger. According to the Apple dudes in the store my power and video adaptor don’t work with Air.

One option the Air needs is the wireless chip set that is in the iPhone. I am just sick of looking for WiFi on the road.

I don’t give a sh*t about it being fast. It’s plenty fast already. I want it to be more compatible with complex websites. Safari plain sucks on many sites, especially on things like web forums and e-commerce sites. There are several sites I’ve been to where I’ll compare the site in Safari and Firefox, and the Safari render leaves a lot of features out. On the Scout.com sports forums, you’d better know a good bit of HTML to post anything other than plain text, because a lot of the buttons and tools simply don’t even show up in Safari.

I’m really enjoying my new 32 GIG iTouch I bought last night.

I’ve rented Ratatouille the movie, bought Bugs Bunny and Porky Pig cartoons and the recent season of Lost.

Google Maps is awesome! Love the stock quotes and mini-graphs, email everywhere. So easy!

Loce it!

I would think that most people the speed difference would be out weighed by if they like how it works for them. I have played with Foxfire Opera and IE7. I use foxfire the most because of the tabs setup. I’ll down load Safari but speed will not be the biggest issue for me.

“forking it off”

Hey, this is a family forum!!! ;’)

I used to use Camino when OS Xing it, and that’s related I think. Opera, though, is mentioned, always kinda hated that one, on any platform.
