February 8, 2008 -- After a savage, bone- snapping beating, young Yovany Tellez had barely the strength to speak his final words to his mother: "I want to go to sleep."
Yesterday, a Manhattan jury convicted Zahira Matos, 23, of Harlem, of murder, potentially dooming her to life in prison.
Her drunken lesbian lover had actually dealt the boy's death blows, but the jurors found that Matos had, unimaginably, done nothing for five hours or longer as her moaning 23-month-old son lapsed into a coma and died.

clearly - this lezbo was jealous of her lover’s offspring (from a heterosexual union). And to top it off - he was a boy.
He was a boy who who needed diapers, and this lunatic wanted beer instead.
She should get life.
And you’re right...someday she’ll get out, and some poor child might have the misfortune of crossing paths with her.

So the actual killer gets out sooner? Both of these monsters need the death sentence or at the very least life in prison without any chance of parole. Prayers for the little boy.
Not everyone who does this kind of thing is demon-possessed. Some people can manage to do this kind of evil all on their own. The heart is deceitfully wicked and full of evil; who can know it?

As svcw said, I also heard that those who are incarcerated, detest child killers, and make life miserable for them. I don’t know if that holds true in women’s prisons or not. But, I don’t think life will be easy on either one of them.

We don’t often hear of women committing crimes like this - or like the girl who killed two girls in the shooting at the Tech school in Louisiana, today.
It makes me sad and outraged at the same time.

By "spayed," you mean "beaten mercilessly for several hours and then shivved to death," right?
I hope both of these monster’s lives end in jail in a violent way. I hope the monster mother hears her baby say those words 24/7. I don’t have that type of forgiveness in me to ever think these women can be reformed. To me death would be best for them. I hope life is pure hell on earth for both of them. Evil is evil & they are pure evil.
It would be very interesting to see a comparison of how this story was reported in the NY Times versus the NY Post.
It is, absolutely senseless. I feel the same way, want to shout, what are You waiting for!?! It’s hard to understand the “longsuffering and not wanting anyone to perish” thing when we read articles like this.

In the meantime, the heartless monster will likely happen upon someone in prison who is bigger, tougher, and meaner than she is.
