I’ve got mixed feelings about this. I’m disgusted by this type of “sport” but it seems to be culturally acceptable in that part of the world. (not to mention legal)
In any case, I suspect Pedro is going to feel some pain over this.

Great. Let’s just keep letting individuals from such civilized cultures into our country.

Who are we to question their cultural norms? /semisarc - let the equivocating of the multiculti set begin.

Cockfighting is a cultural thing. Here in NM we have had knock-down, drag-out fights in the legislature to ban it.
Louisiana is the only state, I believe, where it is still legal.

I suppose I shouldn't admit to admiring bullfighting, something I saw often while living in Mexico.
Meanwhile, my whole Napoleon Dynamite, "Vote for Pedro" campaign for president is gonna have to try and extricate itself from this Pedro. Sigh.

I take a trip with a short term mission team to the DR once a year. The camp we stay in has about 20 roosters in cages. They’re so incredibly noise - ALL NIGHT LONG, not just at dawn - that I’d gladly kill them some nights. Some of them are very colorful though. The roosters for fighting are pampered and fussed over between fights. It’s also a viable source of income for the owners of the roosters. Wouldn’t want to see a fight, though.

Perhaps we should go after all the players who hunt. Or aren’t vegetarians. Or wear leather.
