Let’s not go down this path.

McCain served and suffered.

If we are offended by how McCain talks about it we should retain our dignity and not join in the denigration.

I’m going to post my thoughts on Huckabee and the evangelicals here. I know it’s going to really get some people mad but I have to pass on my thoughts about that sleazy Clinton wannabee from Hope.

During his years as governor, Huckabee granted clemency an average of about once every four days. Huckabee’s successor, Mike Beebe, has issued 40 so far this year, fewer than one a week. Bill Clinton, Frank White and Tucker granted 507 clemencies in the 17 1/2 years they served as governor.

In August 2001, Eugene Fields, of Van Buren, Ark., was convicted of his fourth DWI charge, a felony in the state of Arkansas, was sentenced to six years in prison and a $5,000 fine. Fields reported to prison in August of 2003. But prison records obtained by NBC News show that six weeks into that six-year sentence, Fields’ application for clemency, a commutation of his sentence the governor could issue to grant Fields an early release from prison, was unanimously supported by the parole board. Within months, Huckabee issued his intent to grant executive clemency to Fields, who was released from prison soon thereafter.According to Federal Election Commission records, a month after Fields’ appeal was denied, his wife made a $5,000 donation to the State Republican Party in June of 2003. A month later, she made an additional $5,000 donation, again to the Republican Party of Arkansas. The following month, Fields reported to prison and began his clemency application process. He was a free man in less than a year. Prior to his wife’s donations, Fields had made a $10,000 donation to the Republican Party of Arkansas in October of 2000 under “Fields Investment Company,” the name of his business. Both Mrs. Fields’ 2003 donations and Mr. Fields’ 2000 donation placed them among the largest, individual donors to the Republican Party of Arkansas in those years, on par with donations from members of the Walton family, of the Wal-Mart department store chain. The only other donation made by either Fields to the State Republican Party was in the amount of $500 in August of 2004.

What kind of a man gives a sermon at the church of catholic hating pastor? What kind of a man tries to besmirch another candidate’s religion? This is a man of God?

What kind of a man raises a kid who hangs and slashes a dog? We usually hear kids like that come from some sort of dysfunctional family.

And there’s always the “gift registry” scam that enabled him to get gifts from people while circumventing Arkansas political gift laws.

I have always admired people of faith. However, I’m starting to have second thoughts about evangelicals.

So for all the evangelicals who profess to be so holy and Christian and voted for Huckabee I say the following. Those of you who were unaware of the previous facts about Huckabee are probably admirable people. Those evangelicals who knew about his past and did not find any of this disturbing are not very Christian in my opinion and are not worthy of anyone’s admiration. You are just fake, phony holier than thou frauds.

What? You think John McCain won’t be swift boated by the DNC for claiming war hero status? LOL!

I’m not going down that path. McCain’s service is irrelevant to his candidacy in my book. His liberal record (McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, et cetera) is the real deal-killer.

McCain served and suffered.

He has not shown unity by supporting the party on the major issues for the last 10 years.

Why should we show unity by voting for him?
