PHOENIX - One night before the Patriots [team stats] face the Giants in Super Bowl XLII, new allegations have emerged about a Patriots employee taping the Rams final walkthrough before Super Bowl XXXVI.
According to a source, a member of the teams video department filmed the Rams final walkthrough before that 2002 game. The next day, the Patriots upset St. Louis, 20-17, on a last-second field goal by Adam Vinatieri for their first championship.

I note the vocal contingent of Patriots fans aren’t out tonight.
nfl trying to sweep dirt under rug
In the first half, one of the defensive players for the Pats is on the sidelines "firing up" the other defenders...he's saying stuff like "We know if he (Warner) does "this", it means they're going left...if he goes like "that", it means their going right"...etc.
Pretty damn incriminating, if you ask me. Once a cheater, always a cheater.
I'd really like to see a replay of that show.
Nothing even slightly incriminating, there are perfectly legitimate game tapes which the teams get, and they played the Rams once already. A lot of QBs have tells, all he’s doing is pointing out the tells.
People need to stop being so obsessive. Get over it people, they kicked your team’s ass, they kicked my team’s ass, they kicked EVERYBODY’S ass.
Not even close. Not even top 10. You want scandal, steroids; you want scandal, ignoring the players whose bodies were destroyed by the game; you want scandal, monopoly. The tape thing is the single STUPIDEST story that people just can’t manage to let go of. Move on, rent a life, I’ll throw in a buck.
BTW, they did cheat...as evidenced by the fine and draft penalties.
I find all this controversy very amusing. NFL football is one of the most videotaped events on Earth. Yet all this fuss being made over one team videotaping another team. Seems so pointless when literally hundreds of videocameras are documenting every second of every NFL game from virtually every angle.
A win is a win. According to Warner the Rams went over red zone plays in their final walkthru, and they never were in the red zone. So any filming, which is currently just a blind accusation from an anonymous “source”, didn’t play into it.
Yeah they cheated, and they got caught, and they got punished, and the world needs to get the hell over it. Where’s all this whining when teams get busted for violating the salary cap? Where’s all the carping when they get busted for tampering? Why are people so obsessed with this one? Teams get busted for something or another all the time, during the season, after the season, in the off season, it’s a constant drumbeat in sports. Yet this really dumb story, about the breaking of a really dumb rule, just won’t go away. What the hell is wrong with all you people?! Why won’t you let this boring stupid monotonous idiotic pathetic story die?!
Yeah, right. I guess that settles it. Someone is going to depose the former employee and I would venture to say his testimony would be damaging.
You are an idiot...three points is not an ass kicking.
Get used to it Dishco. The story is not going to go away. What Billy the Cheat did could be a crime. Fixing a game is a crime. In any case, the Patriot organization is garbage.
Keep it coming there Freedom Protector. You are a purveyor of the truth.
Slam, at least you now admit it is a controversy. Earlier you claimed it was not even a close question. Your conversion is progressing nicely.
Also Sam, don't forget that Billy the Cheat has been ADJUDICATED as a CHEATER. Maybe you shouldn't downplay that so that your comments might have a bit of credibility.
bump
So with no facts to come back with you resort to insults. How entirely not surprising.
No, it’ll go away. The season ends today, by August when the season starts again this will be a minor footnote in NFL history. Bill didn’t fix a game, you see fixing a game involves reducing your team’s performance to comply with the Vegas line or even lose. Trying to win isn’t a fix, so no this isn’t a crime. The Pats organization is no more garbage than the sad obsessed people that can’t let go of a violation that’s already been punished.
Good post.
GO PATRIOTS!!!
BEAT THE G-MEN, IF YOU HAVE TO SPY TO WIN, BY ALL MEAN DO IT, WINNING IS EVERYTHING, THERE ARE NO HOLDS BARRED....
Because that’s not how the NFL operates and it seems a bit over the top.
And just who are you that is in a position to demand that sort of access?
