Ladies' Day

Humans think that they are so very clever
Yet, they add so many frills to the simplest endeavor
Especially when it comes to romantic affairs of the heart
Where an enormous empty Picnic Basket is an obvious start!
Blue eyed, Berman Belinda noticed it with days to spare
And spread the word the word to her girl friends across the square
Calico Annie told Siobahn, the gorgeous Scottish Fold
Creating a scheme surprisingly simple and equally bold
By the time the ladies had some up with Steps One and Two
Haughty orange Edwina decided to be added to the crew
With striped Alexis and Tuxedoed Ophelia in their evening best
The ladies quietly put every facet of their plan to the test
Arranging themselves comfortably with silence and finesse
While the Parakeet decides that it's best not to be a witness
The lovely ladies wait in anxious purring expectatation
For Belinda's Pretty One's delightful afternoon assignation
