The Dragonflies' Lair~Thread XLVII
The Poets of The Lair | January 31, 2008 | Soaring Feather

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Never watched that show Seven, I do like many of the other shows.

I do enjoy the humor of the Brits. It’s so damned dry.

Just heard the news that the terrorists were using Downs Syndrome women to carry the bombs, and they triggered them remotely. They didn’t even likely know what they were carrying. If this sort of behavior doesn’t make you sick, and want to see the terrorists put down like mad dogs, you must be a liberal!

WOW! I’m getting cranky!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“What they running out of men the terrorists”

‘Terrorist’ and ‘men’ in the same sentence is an odd occurrence. To be a terrorist, to even violate the tenants of the religion they profess to follow removes them from even the idea of ‘religious’. Those who kill innocents are so low as to remove them even from the ranks of real men. They are less then animals, who kill only for food or self-protection.

Terrorist = sociopathic murderers with delusions of adequacy, and depressed self-image who vie for the position of lowest possible life form below that of the dung beetle.

Happy Weekend To The Lair

Cedarmere,Long Island New York

MUTATION~ William Cullen Bryant

Hey talk of short-lived pleasure--be it so--
Pain dies as quickly: stem, hard-featured pain
Expires, and lets her weary prisoner go.
The fiercest agonies have shortest reign;
And after dreams of horror, comes again
The welcome morning with its rays of peace.
Oblivion, softly wiping out the stain,
Makes the strong secret pangs of shame to cease.
Remorse is virtue's root; its fair increase
Are fruits of innocence and blessedness:
Thus joy, o'erborne and bound, doth still release
His young limbs from the chains that round him press.
Weep not that the world changes--did it keep
A stable changeless state, 'twere cause indeed to weep.

Good morning Lairites, hope that all of you have rested well. Now it is time for Kathy’s morning music to set the pace for the day. Once you have washed the Sandman's deposits from your eyes, it is time for many cups of hearty, dark and rich Columbian coffee.

This mornings breakfast is a simple one:
- Assorted Bagels are from a fine delicatessen in New York City
- Cream cheese
- Raspberry, Strawberry and Blueberry jams
- Sinful pastries filled with puddings
- Columbian Coffee

Enjoy,

Chef Tude

Morning MEG! What a beautiful picture of a Long Island home and accompanying poetry. I have been to the Vanderbilt Planetarium on Long Island with its massive and beautiful home and grounds. Hope that you are well.

Hi Meg, absolutely lovely, both the picture frame and the poetry. Nice to see my home state featured. The snow adds a nice meringue icing.
