My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Sheesh! I went through GL in May of '80, so that makes me a "pup". I remember George was closed for heat (gas chamber name, right?) so we were happy campers. Watched fireworks through the barracks window until someone came in and told us to shut up and sleep.

A man goes to the Packers ticket office and inquires about purchasing Super Bowl tickets. The ticket teller replies that there weren't any tickets for sale because the Packers did not make it to the Super Bowl.

The following day the same man goes to the Packers ticket office and inquires about purchasing Packers Super Bowl tickets. The ticket teller politely replies that there weren't any tickets for sale because the Packers did not make it to the Super Bowl.

This goes on for an entire week. The man goes to the Packers ticket office inquiring about Super Bowl tickets and the teller says none are for sale because the Packers did not make it to the Super Bowl. Another week of this goes by and the man still is asking the ticket teller about Packers Super Bowl tickets.

Finally the ticket teller in a loud voice says,
"I'VE TOLD YOU FOR THE LAST 2 WEEKS THERE WERE NOT ANY TICKETS AVAILABLE, BECAUSE THE PACKERS DID NOT MAKE THE SUPER BOWL!!!"

The man replied, "I know. I drive all the way from Chicago just to hear you say that!"

AND the superb food they serve us at the college. There is a new guy here (ex-Navy I am ashamed to say) who has refused borcsh(?), soups, eggs, and other stuff. Too weird, too runny, too raw, etc. I think mommy trimmed his crust from his PB&J sammiches.

Our head server Tonia is fed up with his little butt.

He's heading to Iraq, and I guess assumes the food will be better. LMAO

TT, were they still having fire-fighting, with real oil fires out in the field, when you were there?

Absolutely. One of the phrases that it was mandatory that you had to learn was “Last Man Back”. It was when you became the last man on the hand-line (hose) during the fighting of the oil fire.

Oh yeah, we got real fires. Real smoke in the smoke house too (I now remember THAT was “george”) but the gas chamber was closed on our day for heat and humidity. Darn! LOL

I don't think they do it any more, because of the pollution. You used to be able to see the black smoke from Edens Highway, when you drove by
