The Dragonflies' Lair~Thread XLVII
The Poets of The Lair | January 31, 2008 | Soaring Feather

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

;o)
Glad you are warmer..We are cooling down right now..I could feel it when I went out to feed the feisty male raccoon just now..He decided I was friend after a good sniffing and good look at the feeding cup.

He was acting so tame at first that I thought he was my favorite female..I am hoping to see some baby raccoons here later on..I have yet to see one at this house.

Oh kittens are so cute, my FIL years ago had a volunteer job of moving raccoons from around his work place,to release in the country, he used Have A Heart Traps. This city is over run with raccoons. Well, on more than one occasion he caught young kittens (baby raccoons). He would stop by our house on her way home from work to show his catch to my kids, they loved seeing Gramp’s catch. The raccoon we raised was one of his catches. What a rascal he was.

I’ll bet a pet raccoon is a handful!
I have seen young ones at my daughter’s..They were into everything..one would sleep in an empty birdbath in her atrium.I know children would love them!
I have noticed nuzzling and grooming going on so I know romance is in the air.

Indeed they are, lots of fun though. As they mature things get a little hairy. We feed our raccoon dog food, he would help himself anyway, he would sit down by the bag, near a bowl of water and feast away, it was a riot.

The kids would put a leash on him and walk him around just like a dog! He was free to climb trees, run and play around as much as he wanted. Finally, the day came he wanted freedom, we open the door and left it open for him to come and go at will, this went on for a week or so, then he was off on his own. There was a creek near by for him to fish and find crabs to eat.

Ah, I hope you can see the little ones. The parents will bring the babes around, well mom will.

Wow..You are in for some weather..TT would love it!
Tom's being an ass, because he knows how much I'd love it. We're sunny, or overcast, but calm winds and above freezing temps for the most part here. (If it is cold, it is during a time of no precip chance. Sigh.)

Someone's birthday here, I heard screaming and thought there was a problem. Looked outside and three girls were singing to one sitting down girl. In Russian, in Ukranian, then English with Happy Birthday.

I wonder if they'll be in the bar here soon...? Investigation to follow.
