Here is the complete interview on C-Span with Roberta McCain, mother of John. She IS 95 in this interview. Wish I was as sharp as she was in this interview:

No. It passed with more than 60% of the vote. I think that Crist’s enthusiastic support of the measure and of the earlier legislative tax rollback (combined they should save property owners about $24 billion over five years) probably was reflected in the McCain Florida vote after Crist endorsed him.
I have not authorized for publication my photograph, nor that of my beloved Ethel. My lawyers will be in touch.

A couple or so years back, I went to a charity event for a local medical facility. The entertainment was The Beach Boys and we had great seats near the stage. It was great fun hearing all those songs but they were beginning to show their age. Still, the audience enjoyed them very much and the fund raiser was a success. On the way home I couldn't help but think that no one would have paid those prices to see women with knees, elbow and necks that wrinkled, no matter how good or nostalgic they might have been.
Eerily accurate ...
Thanks. 92 or 95, no matter, she looks good, no argument from me there. I ran across that link for the full interview after I watched the nose-holding excerpt. She is, indeed, sharp but unfortunately, just not very likeable.
eeeeeew. Thats just wrong!
Ah, I see. Good to know :)
Is it?
You got that right, Darlin'! She is in total denial about her son's abilities, personality, knowledge, honesty, strength, temperment, loyalty, intelligence, aspirations, and his 'love' of country. She probably talks to him once a year, at most.
IMHO, she is living in the past - and never really got to know her son. (Like when he was shot down, she called his wife and told her 'we need to accept that he is dead'. Total lack of compassion and heart-felt pain.)
What’s wrong about it?

"A soldier from Cheshire who starred in a spoof video of the No1 hit song (Is This The Way To) Amarillo said today that defence chiefs had "loved it" - despite it causing their computer system to crash.
Staff Sgt Roger Parr, 34, teamed up with troops from the Royal Dragoon Guards tank regiment to shoot the video at their base in Al Faw, Iraq, before emailing it back to Army friends in London.
The funny tribute to the song - released for Comic Relief earlier this year with comedian Peter Kay miming to Tony Christie's 1971 song - proved so popular at the Ministry of Defence that it crashed the server.
But Staff Sgt Parr, from Runcorn, said the Army's top brass had enjoyed the video. "I heard it had crashed the MoD's email system, but it had done no harm and everyone had loved it," he said. "I didn't get into trouble.""
It is a great day here it looks like Summer.
Gotta dash for my usual Saturday freeloading, see you all later.
That was really funny, thanks.
Off to work, see ya all later.
