SoCal ping & “others”
I’m originally from Brooklyn...& while we’re on this sad subject...
It was a Tuesday afternoon. I was a (NY) Giant fan raised to hate the (Brooklyn) Dodgers, but I didn't care much for the Yankees either. Tuesday was the day for my Cub Scout Den Meeting. We all showed up and took a vote about whether to watch the game or not. I voted against watching. I'm not sure whether we wound up watching or not, but I've regretted my vote for a long time.

Great Dodger memories. That was before baseball became the game of mercenaries jumping from team to team.
Well Mr. Podres is up there with the biggest Dodgers fan of all, Our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
You do know that Jesus was & is a Dodgers fan. :-]
I knew Sandy Koufax. Sandy Koufax was a friend of mine. Sandy, you’re no Johnny Podres.
Thanks for the ping. Seems to me that baseball is the epitmy
of Americana and a welcome balance to all the crappola in an election year. Looking forward to a hot season watching my Angels, win or loose.
Yes, on the way to the game, fellow Dodgers asked him, how many runs will we need to win? Podres answered, one. He went on to shut out the Yankess in a baseball thriller, 2 - 0. While I saw him pitch that game, I never met him, but I miss him. I do.
