January 11, 2008)--Authorities in North Carolina said late Friday morning pregnant Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach is dead.
They said shes buried in a shallow grave, for which investigators are now searching.
They identified the suspect in the case as a Marine officer whom she accused of sexually assaulting her.
Police earlier were planning to interview a man who lived with her and said he would answer questions that "will shed a lot of light on the case."
Authorities said again Friday Marine Sgt. Daniel Durham isn't a suspect, but police believe he's the last person to speak with the Marine.
She disappeared Dec. 14 ahead of her expected testimony in a military investigation into her claim a senior officer had sexually assaulted her.
Court documents show the investigation went sour amid inconsistencies in the woman's story and allegations that she's bipolar and a compulsive liar.
Search warrants show she was facing a possible discharge from the service.
Lauterbach was eight months pregnant when she disappeared.
I still think this latest could very well be connected. Maybe some street justice, who knows.

Brown said that he cannot comment on why Wells was killed or if there were any witnesses to the slaying. The Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the death.
“At present only two persons have been charged in connection with Wells’ murder,” Brown said. “However investigators expect this to change as the investigation continues.”

Forgot to add that the wood stud extends to the floor where the sheet rock stops.
Christmas tree on the front lawn. Lord, have mercy.
Do you imagine there were blood splatters on the Christmas tree?
I’ll bet Christina keyed Maria’s car.
***Ill bet Christina keyed Marias car.***
That’s a *girl* thing - right? Men don’t key cars - they just smash into them?
! I’m sure there were if it was up at the time.
WARNING: Graphic
You aren’t going to believe what I just found on a comment section following an article. A couple people said they heard (I hope it’s rumor and inuendo) that the baby was born during the attack and one even said...forensics said they tried to put it back.
I haven’t seen ANYTHING like that until now. And like I said, I hope it’s rumor and innuendo. But once ya think about it, just a little bit, it might not be.

Yeah. I had an ex that beat the **** out of mine.
That’s my take!
You are right about the man hands of Christina. Does anyone have the photo of Christina with Cesear with her face blocked out? Lyn seems to be an expert on hands, so it might help.

Long fingers
NO. Was this an afterthought on the part of the neighbor???????????????????????????
Interesting comments.
One comment reminded me of the paternity crisis re: Anna Nicole Smith.
If Laurean had no sexual relationship with Maria - as he claimed - why not demand an amniocentesis DNA test. He was entitled to clear his name and not be required to wait until the baby’s birth.
Makes sense!
Precisely.
Then he moved back past the porch/deck in the back where he pointed out the wheelbarrow. Then they panned across the fence where there were three fence segments missing. They showed the other side of the yard. There were two missing segments over there (these are all like 10 feet long) The reporter Trace says that after Maria was killed she was wrapped up and dragged to the fire pit. 40 feet across the yard. Then he dug a 2,5 foot deep whole. Cesar put the fence segments on top and burnt it for quite a while because the body was very charred.
The reporter specifically said that they are not implying anything but HOW COULD CHRISTINA NOT KNOW????
