Sad day for pro football and the organization.

A C-L-A-S-S act.

A class act indeed.

I sure hope Dan Snyder managed to lose Steve Spurrier’s number.

Good luck getting anybody of Gibb’s stature to work for Snyder’s team.

...although a rival,he has always shown class,I prefer to think it was his decision, rather than a force out.

I’ve been a Redskins fan since Eddie LeBaron was the starting QB - sorry to see Gibbs go.

I don’t think Gibbs really was planning on staying all that long when he took the job. Look for one of his assistant head coaches to be given the nod as successor — the plan always was to build the system back up, and then turn it over to a younger coach within the system.

Too bad. I thought he was just one season away from NFC Championship. Don’t blame him though. At his age, he needs a rest.

Class Act, indeed. Too bad his owner isn't.

Don't be surprised if Snyder goes for a big splash . . . . . Jimmie Johnson.

As a Dallas Cowboy fan Gibbs stepping down is great news! I fear him as an opposing coach and have great respect for him. I hope the skins hire .......... Jethro Bodine to replace him.

You could see it on Joe’s face at Saturday’s game. I think he was tired.

Wow. Didn’t see this coming, figured making the playoffs would be something to build upon next year.

I have a feeling that Joe was devastated by the death of Sean Taylor far more than most of us realized. Joe has always considered the Skins as part of his family. So, not being able to get his wayward son to divest himself of his gangsta thug associates had to be demoralizing.

Oh, I know, we’re told (repeatedly) that Taylor was turning his life around ... blah, blah, blah. But, the fact is that the reason the gangsta thugs knew where his house was — and what it contained — was that they had partied there previously. So, maybe Saint Sean either wasn’t turning quickly enough — or, perhaps, not at all.

Too bad it all took such a toll on a class act like Joe.

Joe Gibbs was my only reason for giving a hoot about the Redskins.

When he leaves, there’s one less good man to turn back the madness in the National Felons League.

The old Hog, Russ Grimm is still avaliable. He almost has the Steelers job a year ago. He wouldn’t be a bad choice.
