I have a feeling that Joe was devastated by the death of Sean Taylor far more than most of us realized. Joe has always considered the Skins as part of his family. So, not being able to get his wayward son to divest himself of his gangsta thug associates had to be demoralizing.

Oh, I know, we’re told (repeatedly) that Taylor was turning his life around ... blah, blah, blah. But, the fact is that the reason the gangsta thugs knew where his house was — and what it contained — was that they had partied there previously. So, maybe Saint Sean either wasn’t turning quickly enough — or, perhaps, not at all.

Too bad it all took such a toll on a class act like Joe.

He was great at causing fumbles by the other team.

He’s called a second timeout on his career.

Hail To The Redskins!

You will be missed Joe.

Joe Gibbs was my only reason for giving a hoot about the Redskins.

When he leaves, there’s one less good man to turn back the madness in the National Felons League.

Guess he’ll go back to his racing team full-time.

I also heard him say that his grandson has leukemia.

I’m sure it’s all playing in as a part of the decision.

I have my doubts how long will Joe Gibbs stay with his racing team—especially considering the tough transition from the Chevrolet with its well-proven engine block to Toyota in the 2008 season.

The old Hog, Russ Grimm is still avaliable. He almost has the Steelers job a year ago. He wouldn’t be a bad choice.

I love you Coach and I hope you enjoy your retirement...although I expect it won't be very retiring. We're what, 5 weeks out from Daytona?

Joe GIbbs is one of a kind and he'll never really be replaced. Snyder will hire another head coach but there's only one Joe Gibbs.

Which ever assistant head coach does not get the job will leave for a head job somewhere else

I hope Greg Williams gets the nod. I think that Snyder could come up with a way to keep Al Saunders if Williams were head coach.

I hate to sound politically incorrect. He was hired as marketing tool, the game had passed him by. He is a good christian and a class act, but the real power was supposed to lay with Greg Williams.

Williams will interview with the Dolphins. Al Saunders or Greg Williams will be the coach, but one of them won’t be there next year.

NFLN was reporting that he was staying last night. I guess Gibbs decided he didn’t need all that comes along with coaching football at 67 these days. Don’t blame him, I’d go back to the cars too.

As a Dallas Cowboy fan Gibbs stepping down is great news! I fear him as an opposing coach and have great respect for him.

LOL! As a Redskins fan I felt the same way when Tom Landry left...

Explain to me the number of games Washington lost because of either poor clock management or poor use of time outs, and then the fiasco in the Buffalo game.

I hate to see him go. I hate the Skins. Would love to see them keep losing.
