Yep...he was the man! I remember watching him strip a ball from a running back at the goal line to preserve a win...I think it may have been against the Giants in 1972 or 73...

A very, very cerebral linebacker.

I played linebacker in high school at the time and followed him as my model. On offense it was always “KA-Zoka” with Miami.

A good model to follow. I think it is pretty sad he has not made it into the Hall of Fame...a nine time pro bowler should be there.

And Coach Gibbs...a class act indeed.

Joe also had to deal with his 3 year old grandson’s leukemia diagnosis this year. I understand the little boy is in remission, but that is an enormous blow to any family. Thankfully, medical science has come far in leukemia treatments, and I hope the lil fella beats it.
At the same time, Coach Bugle’s exquisitely beautiful daughter is fighting a rare form of cancer. It was a very tough year for the ‘Skins coaching staff. I pray for the full recovery of both, and nothing but the best for Joe Gibbs.
