Well, in a few hours, a few LSU folks will recall with dread the name Greg Frey. Yep, the Buckeye quarterback no one remembers but die-hard Buckeye and LSU fans. The quarterback who led the team to one of the most spectacular comebacks ever witnessed at Ohio Stadium.
As Wikipedia puts it: On September 24, 1988, he rallied Ohio State from a 33-20 deficit in the final four minutes for a 36-33 victory over the ninth-ranked LSU Tigers.
I was at that game in the shoe, urging all the fans who were leaving early to stay put. It was gratifying to see them pour back in as the miracle comeback unfolded. When Bobby Olive made that flying catch in the end zone for the win, I distinctly remember sharing overwhelmingly jubilant joy with thousands of other Buckeyes around me.
The LSU fans who shuffled back to their cars were morose indeed .... it's a long long drive to Louisiana from Ohio. These same fans are now hoping for a dose of that gloom to be heaped upon the carloads of Bucknuts on their way back home from the Dome tonight.
I have some advice for Tiger fans: don't buy the extra beer for the party after the game. The spirit of Greg Frey is with us still.
OSU over Tigers, 24-21.
It’s ok darkangel, I still love ya. :)
Here I am back in the saddle after a flurry of activity here at work and watching the game out of the corner of my eye. Looks like OSU has a comeback in ‘em...
The last time there was as a$$ kicking like this in New Orleans was Katrina.

I don’t know, OSU is getting the momentum.
Georgia, LSU, USC and W V. this yr
BCS has a real mess now.LOL
BALLGAME!
Disaster
God ____ it....
THAT was a hit...
God had nothing to do with the way OSU is playing.
Since 1960 (when I went to OSU) or before.
Yep, Ohio State had a little life until then, the QB has to get the ball away, he had the time, he just should have forced it, instead of taking the sack.
This is the second or third time he’s been unable to scramble or throw it away. QB Advantage LSU
The SEC already takes care of its playoff system. Georgia failed to win the West Division of the SEC. Every conference game counts from the first week of the season. It would have been great to see Georgia/LSU play. But Georgia did not come through when it counted early on. That’s ok. They’ll most likely get there next year.
I’d rather not see games like they have in the NFL where teams decide to roll over because they’ve already won their division and don’t need to win another game to make it to the playoffs.
Good stand by the OSU D.
LOL - I’m a frustrated U of Mich Alum and Fan who is uncharacteristically rooting for OSU!
Tressel’s gravesite?
