Okay, I think I’ve probably asked this before...

My daffodils and tulips did not fare well this year. I don’t know if they’re overcrowded or if I have a critter problem. I do know that I’ve still got moles/voles in the yard and we have lots of squirrels.

I figure my options are:

1) Dig them all up and replant them in the fall. Not my favorite option.

2) Mulch really well and mark where nothing came up. Replant there in the fall. I’m thinking I could mulch around what came up (and did or didn’t bloom) and put in something like golf tees that would mark where I could plan in the fall.

Which option is best? and,

If I go with option one, when can/should I dig them up?
