We had ‘em there, just didn’t get ‘er done. We both thought about it though.

Another Ent-moot sounds great, guess someone should appoint a committee to study it and scout out locations.

OK.

*sigh* The faucet won’t do that thing this morning. But I know it will again. I just foresee this being a very difficult conversation.

He’ll also probably note the “filthy” counter (it’s stained, and there’s nothing I can do to make it look clean), the broken stove, and the also filthy hood over the stove (it’s rust), etc.

I was *going* to go watch Macbeth. Verdi’s version.

Looks like I get to sit and hope the faucet acts up instead.

AAAACK!!!

Do NOT say the name. It’s the “Scottish Play”.

(or does that apply to Opera?)

The opera’s in Italian. So I think it’s safe. ;-) Maybe.

You mean it’s not dripping this morning? Shuts off easy every time? I mean... even if it shuts off now, when I was messing with it... it was clear it was a worn out faucet, it shouldn’t leak out the base of it when you wiggle it.

Maybe use today to tidy up and rearrange for your table.... or look for somewhere else to live, or get drunk... whichever might improve this funk you’re in.

Stove hood - get a can of textured spray paint, apply over rust. You can probably do something similar for the counters if it’d make you feel better.

He's the flippin' landlord. He SHOULD notice these things, and fix 'em.

Ack! It's like trying to drink from a fire hose.

Yeah, but they like you, they really like you! ;o)

Good idea keeping some 'work duds' handy!

I’ve done some rearranging, so the table fits in. So there’s that. I still need to do more organizing. May go out in search of a frame for the painting I found at Goodwill last week, and may search for a tablecloth as well.

I’m just really frustrated with this place right now, and looking at that nice place and spending time at brothers’ places didn’t help matters. I mean...every place has its work-arounds for little things that don’t work, but this place is almost nothing but work-arounds. As one example, I was trying to figure out where to put the cats while he’s here, and it’s a struggle. I can’t put them in the bathroom - there’s no door. I can’t put them in the room I’m using as a garage - the door doesn’t stay shut if they pull on it. I have to keep a sock in the door hinge to hold it shut, and it doesn’t always work, so I’m often heating a big room I don’t use. I can’t put them in the bedroom - the door doesn’t shut because I have power cables running out from there since they outlets out here don’t work. I have to put them in the office and hope they don’t get the door open - it doesn’t latch, either.

And that’s just one example. Granted, it’s a roof, and the location isn’t bad, and I have plenty of room for my dog and nice neighbors (except for the occasional fireworks) and that...

In his defense, he’s never been inside the place. Well, maybe once.

In Rosie’s defense, I wouldn’t probably be eager to invite him in either... If he does decide to do something with the place, it would never stop.

Honestly, the place was intended to be a temporary place for Rosie... and it’s in pretty sad shape, I can understand if it’s starting to get to her. But then again... if communications were easier, these are things he should fix. But then again... A smart landlord wouldn’t spend any more money on it, he’d junk it and bring in another trailer. But then again... he’d probably want to charge more for rent.

It’s not as simple as it sounds.

Yeah, but trying to explain that these things are rust and stains *and* not my fault...that’s going to be not at all fun.

He really doesn’t speak much English, for one, plus he doesn’t listen.

I’ll fix it up.... make it look real nice!

If you want, you can bring the cats over here for the day too. We can put ‘em in the back room, then, if you wanted, you could give him a real tour of the place and ~maybe~ come up with a list of priority things you’d like him to do...
