Wow...It’s good finding stuff like that stashed away....sort of like Christmas! :-)Yeah, for about the first minute. Then it hit me that I had lost it, and forgot all about, for all those years. And it was just a few inches away from my feet all that time.
The really good part, which assuaged my embarrassment, is that the ammo is worth a lot more now then when I first bought it. I should have gone long in ammo futures.

Judging by the way "Ensign Ricky" is holding his weapon, Kirk may become the victim of friendly fire. I guess they didn't spend much time on weapons training at the Academy.
I also believe the soon-to-be-late redshirt isn't an ensign at all (they have one thin stripe on the cuff), but that rarest of beings, a Starfleet enlisted man. Starfleet seems to be the only organization in the galaxy made up of 99.5% officers.
That could also explain why the greenest of ensigns still get individual quarters aboard a starship the equivalent of a Second Class cabin on a cruise ship.
