The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Your Thinking is Concrete and Sequential
You are precise, orderly, and realistic.
You tend to get to the point and get things done.

Difficult, detailed work is easy for you. You take things step by step.
Time limits aren't a problem for you either. You work well with deadlines.

What does drive you crazy is any sort of task that isn't precisely laid out.
You don't like anything to be ambiguous. You prefer to deal with the facts at hand.
What Kind of Thinker Are You?

Well, Talon is home sick with a stomach bug and I’ve got a lovely swollen lip, so today is not looking that excellent. Oh well.

Even if’n he is sick that’s no excuse to give you a fat lip.

I’m just sayin’...

I am not having a good day. I just randomly tripped over my own feet and banged up my knee (and my ankle got twisted; ouch)

Maybe I should go home and start over.

Hey you know what? Remember that craigslist ad I found for meat rabbits? I contacted that person and I *think* they might actually be the police chief for a nearby town! The email address they gave me has the word glock in it and the name is exactly the same and the location is just outside of said town.

He wrote me back and was very informative, telling me a lot about the stock he sells. We’ll be getting our breeding stock this weekend.

Jen, you were right about the cage-building. It actually did end up being cheaper than anything we could’ve bought, but the best part of it is they are so very easy to build that Steve and both boys were able to spend a lot of time on it and get a lot done. Sorta like building something and getting real fast instant gratification. Just within a few minutes...it was obviously a cage being built and it was easy enough for both the boys to participate deeply. Does that make sense? I’m having a hard time describing it. They were able to REALLY build the thing, instead of just kinda standing by and getting to do a little thing now and then.

I just stood around and wrung my hands, as I’m required to do.

Yup! Wonderful dad and sons bonding time plus they have ever more interest in those rabbits now!

And when your sons are grown up and married, their wives will be happy that Steve taught them to do good honest labor. Did they get to use power tools?

Seems ok, but I was being really productive up until then. Now I’m stuck.

Good morning. It’s 26 degrees here. Ain’t this place supposed to be warmer than Vermont? Their low wasn’t much different...

No...just hand tools. Tape measure to measure the fencing material. Wire cutters to cut the material, hammer to mold the material around the edge of a 2x4 to make the corners, then these special pliers that wrap a clip around things in order to hold them together...called j-clips.

They did the entire cage in the living room!

Thebother can take himself to noodie bars, thanks... though he’s a bit young for bars...

heh heh... yer a brave one... the hotels/motels off base are a veritable Sodom and Gommorah... hint, bring a blacklite from yer CSI kit, immediately remove the bedspread and toss in a corner, don't answer the door after dark, and leave no valuables of any kind in your car or your room...
