Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Remind us in July to schedule a trip for g’nad to go and beat you up should you forget that you’re not doing the show...
Yep! That should give you plenty of time for yard work this fall!
There's a small group of us having dinner at a particular wings and beverages establishment on Tuesday, August 12 for the specific purpose of reviewing our reasons to not do the show.
They’re saying there’s a good chance for considerable snow accumulations tonight and tomorrow!
So I’m hearing. Lovely. :-\
They’re also predicting night temperatures in the low to mid 20s for Sunday. I’m thinkin’ my daffodils are pretty well doomed.
Eh - they’re right by the house. The way your house leaks heat, I bet they’ll be just fine! ;~)
*sigh*
So there’s that...
But actually, the frost killed my crocuses that were in the same spot, so I’m thinkin’ it’s not enough.
It does mean the heat bill will go back up. I’m tired of winter electric bills!
We all struggle to survive in a hard world :~)
We didn’t get much snow this year... I’m kindof looking forward to it! :~P
I just don’t want anything to happen to thenewlittlecar is all...
Otherwise, I wouldn’t mind it so much!
I do hafta say...it’s a LOT easier to scrape the few bitty windows on this car than it was clearing off the van. And it has heated side mirrors...if I turn on the rear defroster, the mirrors get defrosted, too. Fancy. Almost makes me wish for series subzero temperatures. ;-)
Well, look at the bright side.... if you go off a cliff into a dark ravine or something, that bright blue car will show up a lot better than that deep forest-green van would. ;~)
Um...yeah...thanks...
Glad I could help :~)
Any of y’all free this week? I need to ~take care of~ some DMV officials.
We were told that we needed to get a salvage title for Jr’s car. To do so it has to be inspected by an official DMV inspector and we get to pay $125. So I filled out the paperwork and faxed it in.
I never heard back, so I sent it again.
Finally the officer calls and said “this car is too old, you don’t need a salvage title, all you need is a replacement title.”
Okay, so I sent Jr. and the Mrs. to DMV to take care of that. They refuse to give us the title back.
Someday, somewhere, heads will roll.
I’ll take pictures.
Did you happen to get the name of the officer who told you that you only needed a replacement title? T’would have been good to have a name to ‘drop’ at the DMV.
I think I have it in the file that the Mrs. has with her.
I’m going straight to the Commissioner (with a copy to the Governor) on this one. There was no manager/supervisor available to talk to today.
Ungh...DMV...seems to be a rule that any dealings with such must be excruciatingly painful.
I gotta say, though, most stuff here is very easy.
For example, you reminded me that I hadn’t gotten around to finalizing the ownership transfer of the van. Just did it. On-line. Took about five minutes. It’s officially no longer mine. *snif*
I feel your pain, though. :-\ CO and VT were definitely not that easy. And they’d *always* find a requirement that I have some piece of paperwork I didn’t possess at the time. Always. Upon which I’d have to go to the back of the line...
I’m ~happy~ to comply with the rulz.
Unfortunately, they can’t seem to agree on what they are.
Who is this 'they'? And where are they predicting that for, in the mountains or here? I'm not seeing any corroboration of that forecast on AccuWeather or WeatherUnderground.
AccuWeather says 'little or no accumulation', and WeatherUnderground says 'up to an inch in the higher hills'.
Mr. FreezinFog said it!
