Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Glad you made it safely! We just got back from Gypsy’s walk and it’s still brisk out there. Quiet in the shire, though Dairy Queen is open so the old geezers can get their ice cream cones. LSA
Ice cream? In the snow? :)
ROTFL! That looks like me just about now!
Fuel tank: full.
Heh, excellent - “there’s always room for one more...” eh?
That could be a great screen-saver or reply email attachment. The cat has just the right expression.
I've got Ben Hur in the player. He coulda saved himself a lot of trouble if he'd carried liability on his homeowner's policy.
Same here - yup, just one loose roof tile.
Heh...liability or Bob Villa.
Our PCs at work are supposed to be locked down, but I have a way of using that picture in lieu of our corporate desktop background.
I ended up with an Argentinian Malbec...a bit on the strong side, but good. So it worked out!
Did you have a fun visit with your brother, and his family?
Yes, very nice. And the lamb was delicious! There are benefits to having brothers who are excellent cooks...
Nieces are cuter every day...
I really need to visit more often.
Oh, and I got to try thenewlittlecar in torrential downpour and wind...yay. It did really well! Confidence inspiring.
Everyone liked the color and look, if they were a bit shocked at my buying something new...
Vey good! Now that you have reliable transportation, you can get up to see them more often!
I've never cooked lamb. SirKit had a bad experience with lamb when we were living in Indiana. The department chairman was Indian, and his wife was German. We went to their place for a dinner party one night, and she made Lamb Curry. It was probably the curry, but he hasn't been able to stomach the idea of lamb ever since; curry either, for that matter.
He stewed it in a crock pot with lots of spices and some wine. It was really tender and flavorful! We had mint jelly, too.
Also an orange fennel risotto from a recipe he’s come up with - he wants them to start making it at the restaurant where he works. Also had a really good green salad with crumbled Gorgonzola and a wonderful vinaigrette that was also his recipe. Very tasty!
That is not the way to start the week.
I guess I’ll just have to go back to bed and try again tomorrow.
