Season 4 starts on April 4th. Next Friday, March 28, there will be 2 half hour Battlestar Galactica shows. At 10 pm they will do a recap of Seasons 1, 2, and 3. At 10:30 they will have a show about the BG 'Phenomenon', including interviews with show business types about the show.

Afternoon Corin - way to go, potting bench; form follows function: works for us.

RE: comcast, there wouldn’t happen to be copper wire under that plastic sheathing? Hmmm?

Heh...like I said, the model I got didn’t come with the big house...

But it’ll do. I’m pretty comfy with it now.

Learned another benefit of the bright color - it really stands out in a parking lot! Makes it easy to find.

Considering who turned out to be Cylons ar the end of season 3, why should I not expect you to be one. Me too, for that matter.

I’m still not convinced they’re actually Cylons. It don’t make no sense.

And that’s all I’m gonna say about that...for fear of posting spoilers for some of the folks who are behind....

I was about to say who that was, but remembered that not everyone has finished season 3.

Exactly.

It was definitely a whooooaaa moment. But I still think they’re pulling a trick of some sort.

Maybe they are tricksy Hobbits. Decided to restore my Battlestar Galactica: Razor tagline. Politics Schmolitics!

Been having some fun with some of the over-the-top anti-McCain folks I saw this AM. In my case I’ll probably grit my teeth and vote for him, IF HE KEEPS HIS MOUTH SHUT ABOUT DISSING CONSERVATIVES!

We JUST got home from the Easter Vigil Mass. We realized, on the way home, that we'd been at the Church for four hours, since we got there an hour early for choir rehearsal. It was beautiful, though. I don't think I've been to an Easter Vigil Mass at our Parish, in all the 20 years we've been here! We always went during the morning on Easter.

We had six people enter the Church tonight. There were two little girls, and an older woman who were Baptized, Confirmed and received First Communion all tonight. There were also two men and another woman who had been Baptized in another Christian faith, but were Confirmed and received First Communion tonight. After the two little girls and the older woman were Baptized, we had the Offertory Processional and they came up with the altar servers, and the little girls were wearing white tea length dresses. We were singing "For All The Saints", but when I saw those little girls coming up the aisle, I just got so fahklempt I couldn't sing for a couple of verses! After that, they did the Confirmation of the other three.

We go back in the morning to sing 11am Mass, but it won't be near as long as tonight. Joseph got himself some earplugs, because he sits up in the Choir loft with us, but the trumpets and timpani are LOUD, so he wants to protect his hearing. ;o)

Tonight's Saturday Night Gun Pron (tm) is a short one, dealing with the concept of the "three day emergency bag".

As a good citizen, especially in time of war, I'm doing my part to be prepared for some unforeseen event that forces me out of my house for a few days. That means having a ready-to-go stash of common stuff that won't be so easily obtained in a crisis. My "bailout bag" consists mostly of "hardware", stuff that provides fire, light, shelter, communication, navigation, etc. These are items that can help a number of people, not just one.

My bailout backpack, a work still in progress, is aimed more toward food, water, and clothing. It has just enough "hardware" redundancy to get me by if I don't have the bailout bag. Every bag has a minimum of a couple of chemlights, matches, butane lighter (the best source of fire), compass, pocket knife, flashlight, and maybe a sheath knife.

But I want to be a good citizen, and do more than the government urges. For some reason, they left "firearms" off the list, and this is my first attempt at correcting that.

My current project is to make up a "gun kit" that is pre-packaged with everything needed for one weapon in an emergency situation. It should be grab-and-go, but also have a low visual profile. I'm starting out small with the Maxpedition FR-1 combat medical pouch.

It has D-rings, a handle, and also PALS straps for mounting on MOLLE-compatible gear. It also has enough loops to hang other small pouches on, plus a Velcro patch and an elastic cord. Right now, I'm using the Malice clips like belt loops, as the view of the back shows.

It's organized inside with a drawstring to allow the front cover to drop down like a "shelf", along with elastic straps and a couple of internal zippered pockets. The main compartment is 7x5x3 inches, and could be used to keep lots of small items handy and organized, in addition to first aid supplies. This is what I'm keeping in mine:

It's not a fast draw, but it can be done one-handed. Things are quite secure with all the elastic. Since I took this photo, I put a thin piece of closed-cell foam in the mesh pocket behind the Smith for a little added protection against the revolver being poked into some soft part of my anatomy. This is what the contents are when unpacked:

I had to remove the Pachmayer rubber grips because they were too big, and go back to the originals. Still, it's a .38 snubbie with 24 rounds of ammo, including six shotshells. Cops went out on the street with less firepower than this 30 years ago. I'm sure a compact automatic and a spare magazine would also work just as well.

This particular revolver was my "hot weapon" in the house until I got the FN FiveseveN. Now it will serve as my "grab something and go" weapon if I don't have the luxury of time to sit and think through all the items needed for a "perfect" three-day jaunt from home.

My Go Bag Duffel is in the big gun safe, filled with goodies to augment what is already in each vehicle. Only NFA items I still own are a MP5SD w/ A3 stock, 14 inch entry barrel for my Benelli M1 and a can for my Glock 9mm’s w/ 5x28 threads. I have a Glock 34 and Glock 19 in the bag along with the benelli M1 & a TC Contender in 223 , using 4 old M16 mags as ammo carriers for that little single shot. Digital keypad on the safe lets me exit the home 30 seconds after I have my clothes on or at least in hand.

Bag is just right size that I can sling it over my shoulder and use the KLR650 Bike or toss in the seat next to me in any one of my vehicles.

Ad that too my CHL/CCW items and EDC and I like to think I have thought everything through for my area to E&E to safer digs elsewhere !

I thought about going to the Vigil tonight...but ours didn’t even start until nine, and that’s just a bit too late for me! Last time I went was when a friend of my younger siblings was received into the church a few years back. It’s an amazing service...but definitely not brief!

I’m going to go tomorrow morning, and then head up to Puyallup to see family. Brother is making roast leg of lamb, I understand. I’ll get to see the nieces, too! I really need to make it up there more often now that I’m more confident in my transportation...
