We had six people enter the Church tonight. There were two little girls, and an older woman who were Baptized, Confirmed and received First Communion all tonight. There were also two men and another woman who had been Baptized in another Christian faith, but were Confirmed and received First Communion tonight. After the two little girls and the older woman were Baptized, we had the Offertory Processional and they came up with the altar servers, and the little girls were wearing white tea length dresses. We were singing "For All The Saints", but when I saw those little girls coming up the aisle, I just got so fahklempt I couldn't sing for a couple of verses! After that, they did the Confirmation of the other three.
We go back in the morning to sing 11am Mass, but it won't be near as long as tonight. Joseph got himself some earplugs, because he sits up in the Choir loft with us, but the trumpets and timpani are LOUD, so he wants to protect his hearing. ;o)
I thought about going to the Vigil tonight...but ours didn’t even start until nine, and that’s just a bit too late for me! Last time I went was when a friend of my younger siblings was received into the church a few years back. It’s an amazing service...but definitely not brief!
I’m going to go tomorrow morning, and then head up to Puyallup to see family. Brother is making roast leg of lamb, I understand. I’ll get to see the nieces, too! I really need to make it up there more often now that I’m more confident in my transportation...
