The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Season 3 came out on DVD this week, so you’re not far behind, I don’t think. Half a season, maybe?

The second half of season 3 was better than the first...in spite of way too much whiny Apollo. Ungh.

Thanks!

I think it’s a more practical ride for what I need now. Gonna take awhile to get used to the really light steering and gas pedal, and being down so low, though. But it’ll turn on a dime and go fast when I ask it to...

Off to run errands...hopefully I can avoid backing up when I mean to go forward and vice versa...

Going to try out the CD player, too!

Whoohoo - Congrats on the new car, Rosie. Looks great. We appreciated the photos. Buying a new car is a rush, isn’t it? :-) OB & LSA

I just took it on its first trip to the mall...got me an Easter outfit for church tomorrow. Cute black and white dress and some red earrings and a necklace to match. A bit out of my comfort zone (i.e. it’s actually somewhat fitted), but it’s still very modest. Looks good. Easter tends to be my one dress purchase of the year...might as well make it count!

Heh...they had tips from “What Not to Wear” in all the dressing rooms. ;-)

I gotta say...I can really identify with a lot of the gals they have on that show. They had a marathon last weekend and I kinda got hooked...

The rush will continue until the first car payment arrives, anyway. ;-) At least I have forty five days until that happens...should be OK.

Corolla driving is all coming back to me. They’re fun little cars! I can actually go around corners without almost stopping...

It does have some slightly freaky intelligent features, though. Like...it changes the volume of the CD player to match my speed. If the engine is louder, it turns up the tunes. It also complains loudly if anyone in the front seat doesn’t put their seatbelt on pretty quickly...

Potting shelf. I has one.

More substance that style, but it works and gets some stuff organized.

And, drumroll please...I slayed the antichrist. This is the cable that Comcast left on top of my yard since last summer, and yet just one of the reasons they're not my provider anymore. Yesterday I just got tired of it and cut it myself.

So, as of this afternoon with the yard, I'm about where I should have been around Thanksgiving or so...

Well, there’s progress!

We haven’t had much of that since breakfast. Started out awfully chilly to be working outside.
