Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Was it a red one? ;-)
I actually test drove a red Corolla rather than this blue one...it was very slightly cheaper, but didn’t have the remote locks and all, and I decided for security purposes, they’d be nice to have. Not to mention they’re handy when you have an armful of stuff.
And it’s such a pretty blue...only bright blue one they had actually on the lot. It was the car I walked to first and the first Corolla I sat in, but I was tryin’ to be frugal. I just ended up I wasn’t *that* frugal...
COOL! I love that blue, by the way!
frac yeah
It was ok, but it had the problem that I've noticed in the Toyota Altima (we rented one once), in that the steering wheel didn't raise up as much as I want it to. But I could probably live with it.
I like the blue on yours.
My steering wheel tilts and goes out and in and all over. And the seat goes back and forth and up and down, manually rather than using controls. I prefer manual.
It’s gonna take a bit to get everything where I want it! But I’m tickled yet again at how intuitive Toyotas are laid out for me, personally. Even after so many years of driving the van, I still couldn’t, say, change the heat settings without looking at them. Toyotas are very ergonomic for me.
My cousin has an Altima; it’s a vey nice ride!
It’s pretty much the same exact blue as the Honda Fit I was looking at: a sort of electric blue.
And the Toyota people were sooo much easier to deal with, I gotta say. Not sure if that’s true across the board and across the country, but I dealt with about three different Honda dealerships (mostly via phone and e-mail) and two Toyota dealerships in this whole process as I was finding prices and making up my mind as to models, and there’s just no comparison. Enough people buy Hondas that I’d think that isn’t always true, but...
Aren’t you glad that decision has been made? It takes us a LONG time to do research when we’re buying a car. But that means when we find something that’s just right, we can jump on it, because we’ve already gotten all the info!
Now I just hafta keep myself from checking and rechecking the numbers. ;-)
They actually pretty much sold it for the TMV Edmunds has listed...so I think I done OK. And now I need to not worry about it any more.
And yeah, I’m glad I’m done! This car doesn’t fit *every* want I had, but it hits most of ‘em extremely well, and looks good doing it. And actually, since it has no spoiler, that truck bike rack I bought awhile back and then couldn’t easily use on the van might well work. One of these days, when I’ve gotten past the initial fear of scratching the paint and all, I’ll give it a shot. If that covers the bike requirement (it should!), it should do all I need it to do! I just can’t move across country again too easily. ;-)
Ack...*trunk* bike rack.
‘Night folks.
Hope the bike rack fits!
Congratulations! I’m glad you got it!
Whoohoo!!! Congrats!!
Im going to try not to feel guilty now...
Dontcha dare or we'll have Hair come over there and slap you on the head with a fish....
It’ll fit...it’s just a matter of whether or not I can get it on correctly!
Thanks!
I gotta say...it’s still dark out so I can’t really see it yet, but it’s awfully strange looking out there and seeing a wittle car shaped silhouette instead of the van...
The size difference (and the differences in handling that follow from that) is going to be the biggest adjustment. I’ve never driven a little car in heavy traffic.
But ooh, it’s gonna be nice to park and all!
Well, it’s getting light out... should we come over and ooh and ah the car? Do you want to go to breakfast at the truck stop?
Sure! Give me about ten minutes to get dressed and dry my hair and then come on over!
