The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Im ironing and there is nothing on TV but Wife Swap ARGHHHH Well as long as you don't see OB on theshow, it should't be ~too~ bad...

Congrats on the new job, ExGeeEye!
I spent a good part of my afternoon at work documenting how to install IIS on a Windows 2008 server. I guess it's a sign of how odd I am that I enjoyed the experience...

Obviously you’ve never seen it! It is that bad. They take two totally over-the-top different lifestyle families and swap the moms for two weeks; one week on the old mom’s rules and one on the new mom’s rules. Then at the end they bring them together to “talk”. (sigh)

We drove around town today ... nice, quirky older houses for sale. Gave me ideas ...When SirKit was teaching at Purdue, we went looking at houses, in case he decided to stay there. The first one we ever went in was a hundred year old farmhouse that was essentially sitting on two acres in a new subdivision that had built up around it. It was a cool old Victorian and what I remember most about it, 28 years later, was the little parlor to the left off the front room that you entered through pocket doors. It was just so charming!
I still love pocket doors to this day.

Have you read David McCullough’s book? It’s very good! I’ll need to re-read it before watching the mini-series.

That’s why I don’t watch network TV, because of total trash like that.

Hmm... if I said it was a installation of Windows 2008 on a virtual server, running on a physical server which was simultaneously running ten other virtual servers (each one running IIS on Windows 2003 server)... would that make it sound any more fun? ;-)

I’d have the swap wife with a gun in her mouth within 48 hours...

Well, up to now, we’ve just been too cheap to pay for cable. The last time we paid for cable was down in Texas and we paid $4 a month, of course, that was 30 some years ago.

I’ve got Mystery Science Theater playing.
