Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
I don’t have my glasses on.
The Advil bottle says “no more than 24 in a 6 hour period.”
Right?
You tryin’ to give 2J a heart attack on her birthday?
Seein’ as how her BP goes down when she’s all het up, I thought I’d help...
Sure...only thinking of others, huh? ;-)
Well...I guess I should get on with my day. Heading to the Honda place first so they can look at the van. Got my fingers crossed. I think the Fit is my first choice, just 'cause I like the hatchback for loading critters and instruments, but it'll depend a lot on what pricing they give me.
...At least I just this week noticed that our payroll company never switched me to the new rate at the beginning of the year...they did switch me to salaried, which was another part of that promotion, so the paycheck amount was slightly different and I didn't do the math 'cause I'm an idjit. But it means I'll have a bit extra to add to the downpayment. Maybe I was *meant* to be an idjit.
okay, break’s over
Oh, I didn’t even have to ask. It’s been fixed. I just feel like a kanucklehead for taking so long to question it.
I LOVE that color! When we got the new Windstar, back in 2000, we bought it sight unseen. I’d driven a few used ones, but we hadn’t even considered a new one until SirKit started thinking about the small difference between the price of a low mileage, slightly used one, and a new one. We had told the salesman what we wanted in a van, and he called one afternoon, and asked if we’d consider a new one, and he mentioned the Sport Model. He quoted a great price, then gave me the color choices. I went with the red, and three days later, the afternoon before we were going to take it on the road to take David to college, we went to pick it up. The first I saw it was when they drove it around to the front door for us to pick it up. We really enjoyed that van!
LOL... it’s definitely testing the load rating on the Harris bipod.
Trying to decide what to do today... got to take a test, the yard is covered in huge branches now that the snow is gone, and we want to get our taxes done...
Back from dropping off the newzpapers off in the recycling bin. Takes a while to fill up a sack, we only get the Sundary Red Star and the local paper is a weekly. But catalogs, that’s another story...glad they take them.
Rain/snow/etc. over, wind still up, less than hour till the parade ties up traffic in downtown for 15 minutes or so. We can improvise in the interim.
I’ve been doing some vacuuming...waiting for various ballgames and races to start.
I got a couple of (planting) beds turned yesterday.
Well...been to the dealership. They didn’t offer me what I hoped in trade...mostly because of scrapes and dings, they said. And they wouldn’t budge on the amount. I’m rethinking the trade-in deal. Yes, they’d recondition it and sell it like that, which kind of makes me feel good...but I think I could easily get twice what they offered in a private sale. It’d be a headache and scary is all. I’ve never sold a car like that, except to my brother.
But it’s worth considering. Even if I had to get a rental car for a short while, it might be worth it.
The numbers worked even so, though. I tentatively put my name down for the next Vivid Blue automatic they get in.
So there’s that!
I’ve spent most of the day in bed, trying to catch up on the sleep I didn’t get last night. I’m still having the coughing fits from the old BP meds, and likely will for a couple of weeks. It’ll take that long to work itself out of my system. But all night I’d sleep for a half hour or so, then wake up coughing, and be up for a bit. Then I’d lay back down, sleep a bit and it would start over again. Finally, this morning I was able to get two hours of uninterrupted sleep before the coughing started. I’m just hoping that it will end soon, so I can have a good night’s sleep!
Vivid Blue, huh? Most cool! Heck, yeah, put the van up for sale! As you said, you could always do a rental for a bit, and I’m sure the dealer will try to hurry up and get you a car; he wants to make that sale!
I don’t even know what paperwork I’d need...and if (on the off chance) they can’t find me a car for several weeks or more and the van sold quickly...it’d put me in a bind.
I guess it’s worth a shot.
I’m looking at Blue Book. Guess I should check the state website for sales forms and that, too.
That just sounds miserable. :-\ Glad you’re going to be able to switch!
Well...I posted it.
Even the lowest value in the blue book was over three times what they offered, so it’s worth a shot. Even if I sell it for a lot less than that (I priced it pretty well below, actually) and also have to rent a car for a bit, I think I’d come out on top.
Kind of a scary move, though. First real serious step I’ve taken...
