How come we haven’t heard from Rosie since you posted that? Should we be ~concerned~ ?

From what I understand BT isn’t the only thing that Comcast stops. I’ve seen people complaining about lots of other content as well. We’ve not had any problem in that regard, but I know other folks have.

Heh... she’s fine, I swear! I saw her over puttering in her yard! I guess she only responded in FRMail.

Rosie... I hope I didn’t embarrass you by posting it here. I thought it was good for everyone to know and advise me on what I should do about it is all.

Hey... at least it was just House you were downloading ;~)

We hadda good day, but we're 'xausted. This was the Richmond Home Show and Maymont (local park) Flower and Garden Show. We love going 'cause we get great ideas. This is where we found Nana's chair lift and suddenly went from paying $15,000 to remodel the garage to paying about $4,000 for the chairlift.

Here's a few pics...I didn't do all that well with the camera.

That setting is great you guys did a super job. We didn’t think it was warm enough up there to do this yet. What is the cover thingy on your birdbath.

Very nice indeed. Flowers blooming and all. Lots of good ideas, any we’ll see later on? Looks like Luke was in creative mode. It will be awhile before we see flowers here.

Yeah, after thinking about it more I tend to agree with Ramius. Just stop using BitTorrent (or at least, turn off uploading, which is easy if I remember right), double-check your wireless security, sit tight, and probably nothing further will come of it.

I use a newsreader, and get stuff from newsgroups, rather than via P2P systems. I spent the extra $5 per month with my newsgroup provider, and get 20 server connections, and end-to-end encryption. All a RIAA sniffer would see is an encrypted session between my IP and my news provider showing something was happening.

Also, P2P uses certain specific ports in the TCP protocol. It's easier to sniff out those ports than scan the entire packet stream. It's also why the hospital has those ports blocked at the firewall, so people can't fire up P2P programs.

The RIAA can develop enough good-looking data from P2P sessions to scare an internet provider into sending out warnings to anyone who even seems guilty. It's the path of least resistance.

OTOH, I don't see the RIAA approaching a news provider, and saying, "excuse me, but we detected an encrypted session between you and 300winmag. Could you please let us know what was involved, so we can decide if we were violated, and then threaten to sue your collective asses off?"

I think we might find some things that will work. I always spend a lot of time dreaming about thebackyard.

This year however, is a rebuilding year. Last year I got distracted with the kidney stone, the spider, the attempt to build the shed and the Christmas show. Good Lord willin’ those won’t be happening this year, so I can get caught up again.

The flowers blooming there were forced for the exhibits. We have very little in bloom yet here.

Yeah, that was a pretty full year - distraction wise. We’re all hoping that this year is less ‘distracting’ for you and the family. Rebuilding as in hammer and saw or planting and mulching?

From what I'm hearing it's a lot warmer here than a lot of other places! Warm enough to do some of the spring yard cleanup! Next will be to fence off and re-seed the lawn. Looking forward to that.

I haven't put the fish outside yet though, just some water plants and we'll wait till it's a little warmer to acclimate the fish. It's still in the thirties at night and they're used to inside.

The thing in the birdbath is a runway light lens I stole in college. ;~) Time will tell if the birds will like it there. It catches just a little bit of light and it might scare them.

Oh - I remembered to find the rubber duckie... now my pond is a happy pond. :~)

Mostly rebuilding as in clearing and mulching. I’m not doing a lot of planting this year beyond what I’ve already done bulb wise. I want to get some caladium and some elephant ears to try along the dry stream bed. And I’m ordering a couple of cool container type things to try on the deck. Other than that it’s just cleaning up what’s grown over.

The dry stream bed has silted in somewhat. Need to clear that out.

A little Bird Girl statue amongst the flowers! What did Luke make in the craft area?

You can’t see the sign on that display. It was entitled “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.” There’s Spanish moss hanging from the trees and wine glasses all around. It won a blue ribbon.

Luke was making a stick-puppet. That was in the exhibit by the Children’s museum.

Runway Landing Light - from college days no less - now that is cool. Somehow the rubber ducky looks like it belongs there. I think we’re all looking forward to spring.

We’ve got a lot of that heavy duty maintenance in the garden and planting beds ourselves.
