The Hobbit Hole XXXV - ...is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

Posted on 01/03/2008 6:35:58 PM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

she can stop pruning my spider plants.

I think a cat's pruning was the only thing keeping a spider plant from taking over the house.

Maybe you just had a bad egg roll or something.

I discovered that my biggest cookie pans and the half-sheet baking pan won’t fit in the new, double, wall oven I bought. It’s only 27” wide. But 10 x 15 and 12 x 16 pans fit just fine, so I can do three sheets of cookies at once. Both sections of the oven are regular and convection, so I’m looking forward to doing some baking in it.

And supposedly with the convection ovens, you can use every rack without difficulty, because the heat is even throughout the oven. No shuffling trays around in order to deal with some parts of the oven being hotter than others.

Should work well for cookies! I have room and racks for two trays...not bad.

If you don’t have TV viewing plans tonight, you’d enjoy “Extreme Makeover.” The family runs a therapeutic horse riding/training farm in Maryland.

I only went to public school through the start of sixth grade, so I did not get the day off after that.

If it helps any, I’ve been sick most of the weekend...

It doesn’t help....but I hope you feel better soon. ;-)

Well, for my last culinary adventure of the weekend, I brined a chicken and then did it on the rotisserie tonight. The drippings did smoke a bit (my fault, I think), but wow...talk about your tender, flavorful chicken! I’m thinkin’ I’ll use that function often. Plus it’s cool to watch...

You're getting to be quite the gourmand with that convection oven!
