Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Heh...when I bought my vacuum cleaner, the box lived in the living room for...um...months. The cats *loved* it, and I didn't have the heart to throw it away.
It's kinda like how Mom let us keep the box for a long, long time when we got a new washing machine, even though it was a nuisance. ;-)
I made pizza last night, and I think it turned out OK. I remember being fascinated when I was little and Dad would make pizza - it's such a colorful process!
But then I forgot to take a picture of the finished product. Oh well.
This morning I made our traditional after-pizza-night breakfast: dough-daddles.
Apparently no one else calls them that, though...at least not anyone that uses the internets... Basically just fried dough. Good with syrup or cinnamon and powdered sugar.
Morning Winmag - excellent choice in the flare gun category. Should have known you would have one of those. Flare guns have been made in almost limitless styles, I recall seeing a collection at a MVACA Show some years back. While visiting with the owner, he mentioned he had several hundred and his display was only the tip of the iceberg.
Mine is the Mark III by Webley and Scott, Birmingham. Being the Mark III, is the short straight barrel model. The flared end section was put on the Mark III and it became the Mark III* IIRC. It has the British proofs and acceptance marks as well as the 1915 date stamp. The British did enjoy stamping their weaponry and equipments.
~sniff~
I saw that around 2:00 a.m. when I was having my nightly cup-of-hot-tea-so-I-won’t-suffocate-to-death tea.
That musta been it. He’s all happy this morning.
mmmmm...fried dough...
Morning - looks great..mmm “Fry Bread Power”. I’ll bet LilFreeper has seen that T-Shirt on her travels out west.
*swoon*
Dat's good eatin'
Indeed, a plate of flat enchidalas (egg on top), green chile mole’, a bowl of posole and basket of fry bread. mmmm
Hey the pizza and stuff looks good! I think Hair and Ecurbh are going to be VERY glad you bought that thing! ;o)
The pizza last night was great! I’ve never made pizza from scratch, and I was very impressed with yours!
I saw that last night. She was such a good actress, and that VOICE!
I see you’re putting your new horizontal surface to good use! The oven is large enough for the jelly roll pans? Wow! It’s a big one! The dough-daddles look yummy; I like fried dough.
Ha! That’s cute!
Thanks!
And thanks for helping me out with the coat hooks and stuff, ecurbh! It looks much tidier in here without coats draped over the furniture...
Yep, the table is wonderful to have, too.
Those are 10x15” baking sheets, and about the biggest pan that will fit in the oven, but that’s big enough for me! I wouldn’t be able to fit half-size commercial sheets (18x13”) like we had at home, but I can live with that.
Woo Hoo! I found Miss Cat’s cat grass seeds!
The bag was hiding in the seed bin. I thought it was lost in thegarage somewhere.
Fresh greens for the Kitteh....and she can stop pruning my spider plants.
Congrats on the oven! It looks like a great choice.
Recovering from the weekend here. It was a lot of fun having friends but now I feel sick.
