Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
muh werk her is done...
um...werk...here...
Sounds like an lolcats slogan.
Evening Winmag - excellent Saturday nite gunpron. The Colt .45, often imitated, seldom duplicated etc. I hope everyone has a chance to own or at least shoot a .45 1911. It’s quite a sidearm. Glad to hear your dad’s Colt is still in competent hands. There is some fine looking ivory polymer grips out there now. You don’t seem to see many of the nickel plated ones.
ps - went to the gunshow today, well attended, very nice stuff on most every table. Renewed old friendships, some decades old.
pps Found a good deal on a case (10 boxes) on Remington .38 Special Plus P with 125 grain jacketed hollow points. It came home with me.
Evening Hair - We think that was a pretty nice thing to do for the redchicken. That farm looks like a very nice place.
Congrats Corin - first triple ever? Well Congrats again. OB & LSA
Get geese instead. They can defend themselves, and make good burglar alarms.
Nah, the way we used to spam for them (~snif~ I miss Vim) I’m sure it wasn’t the first. Just the first on this thread.
Well...when you get 'em, take pictures. ;-)
while I didn’t attend a gun show, I went out to muh firin’ line and burned a hunnert rounds of hand loaded .45s thru the Para... mostly double taps at 15 yds from the holster, two steel plates served as multiple bad guys...
winmag, Series 70... I spent alotta time droolin’ over them in the cases of local gun shops... glad yer dad’s is in good hands...
osage and I made a circuitous trip on the way to STL... via Sedalia... can’t go thru Sedalia w/out a stop at Sierra Bullet Manufacturing... bought a good supply of seconds for plinkin’...
yeah... and yuh get a hefty supply of fertilizer with geese as well...
Heh...so if we see one red chicken there in the fall...we’ll know where she came from, huh? Well...kinda.
Still a mystery how a chicken ended up at your place!
I’d like to have chickens someday, but I dunno how that’d work. Oddly enough, the family of one of my best friends growing up *always* had about half a dozen laying hens at any given time. And their dog was a dalbrador. The only other I’ve known. ;-) But they had the chickens in an enclosed run, with a bit attached hen house...so that’s a bit different, I guess.
*shudder*
Geese are evil. Eeeevil, I tell you.
And there’s that.
*Gak*
G’nad - Well, I’ve heard that time spent on the gun range, like hunting and fishing, is not subtracted from man’s alloted time on earth. Don’t know if that applies to gun shows or not.
mmm. double-taps on steel. a private range is handy to have.
Well, in that case..If my ciphering is correct your triple is the first one available on this thread. :-)
Cool! She found some friends!
[sigh]
Double taps.
double-taps on steel... sweet music tuh muh ears...
