A friend of mine said he saw a televised discussion on TV in which Ron Paul called a Medal of Honor winner a coward.
Anyone know anything about this?

Apparently, this exchange happened on the Dec. 27, 2007 edition of Morning Joe (6-9AM ET) on MSNBC.

I guess I read it wrong. Seemed like he said he lacked the courage to read some history books.
By the way, seems like the NYT retracted their story on Ron Paul and white supremists.

However, it is obvious that Paul's word choice was bad and he didn't really mean it the way it will be used by his enemies." Ah, the Ministry of Silly Explanations is already on it.

Having held the bloodied hand, while he was dying, of a recipient of the (posthumous) Medal of Honor. I would like to face Ron Pual, and ask him
what have you done that comes even close to what my friend did?
Anger meter at its highest.
Anger meter doesnt go high enough.

Look, Ron Paul supposedly never means anything he says (according to his fiercest supporters).
So, whatever he said, he said it and didn't mean it, or anything else.

Sounds like a smear attempt by some uninformed individual; If you ever net Dr. Paul, you would know this is absurd. Your friend maybe confusing Ron Paul with McCain’s town-hall meeting where he called a guy a jerk for asking about John McCains age...

“Paul defended his Lincoln started it assertion by claiming that the MSNBC hosts hadnt read the right history books. He also told Jack Jacobs that he was not brave enough to read those history books, the ones which told the real story.”
I’d like to read a transcript before I jump on Paul any more than to fault him for an ad hominum remark that showed poor judgement, bad manners, and insecurity about his own arguments.
Jacobs may have goaded him, and I’d like to know that. But it can’t excuse Paul’s insult.
The Medal of Honor that Jacobs earned has no relevance to me. Paul’s insult had no valid purpose, period.

You’ve got two choices here: he said what he meant to say, in which case he is cur and a mealy mouthed scoundrel or he said what he didn’t mean to say, in which case he is not in control of his own mouth and could not be trusted to do what he says he will do or speak on behalf of those whose votes he solicits.

Don't get in the way of the haters. It's open season on Ron Paul, Faux News have already excluded him from the NH Forum to cast the illusion that he does not have support. The NY Times was forced to retract a white supremacist smear article on him. Paul's quotes on fascism, Lincoln and slavery, 3rd party run, Bhutto's assassination, etc are all being taken out of context to further the smears.
All of this is happening because analysts are predicting Paul will place 3rd or better in Iowa and go the distance in the primaries. These people are scared and angry, and may God watch over Dr. Paul because he is up against some powerful interests.

After the results come in from Iowa, Fox, with egg all over their collective faces, will be force to allow Paul in the debate.

...Faux News have already excluded him from the NH Forum to cast the illusion that he does not have support He should do what he did in Iowa a while back when he was excluded from another "debate" - hold a campaign rally next door, at the same time and with a much bigger crowd.
BTW, what happened to GWB? Another moderator-encouraged personal attack to bait him and then a banning for his response?
