I wonder what kind of wall will keep the lawyers penned in now?

Come on folks, this is San Francisco. 20 feet or 12 feet, it is more important that the construction crew felt good about their work. Imposing rigid standard of measurements are counterproductive to producing a modern ego. And isn’t that what counts theses days? /snide

So now the so-called ‘enviromentalists’ will put this tiger down for being a tiger.

I went out today at lunch and had Mike McConnell on talk radio. A caller stated that George Bush cut back on fencing expense at this zoo, so thereby Bush is responsible. The caller also blamed Bush for not doing enough for education. Somehow, I thought the two statements were intimately linked but I’m confident the caller does not see it that way . . .

The people of SF can’t even run a zoo, yet they insist on trying to dictate how to run the country.

Earlier this week, zoo officials said the moat's wall was at least 20 feet tall. Today they said it was little over 12 feet. Officials have given at least five different measurements for the enclosure

Good grief people... This does not have to be a mystery... someone give these people a tape measure.

The confusion over the height of the wall probably stems from the fact that there aree two walls in question. One at the front of the exhibit that seperates the dry moat from the visitors, a straight wall. The other wall surrounds the exhibit on three sides and could be used by the tiger to access the visitor area if it could be scaled.

San Franciscans will lie about anything. Even things that are easily proven otherwise.

I figure these guys picked Xmas because they thought they could pull their jackass-esque stunt when there was a light staff and crowd. I’m sure there were laughs a plenty on the cell phone vid the SF detectives are sure to be passing around for laughs. Laughs and screams as the surviving two ran down the hall to the snack bar. This was stunt. My 2 cents.

Darwin gets his allotment and all is good. Except the tiger got short shrifted. But oh what a way for a lifetime imprisoned tiger to go.

I don’t know about tigers, but full-grown deer have no trouble with a 12 foot wall.

... statements to The Chronicle that the victims may have dangled a limb over the animal's enclosure, helping the 350-pound cat escape.

The victims deny that account. They only dangled a limb over the crocodile enclosure....

John Edwards has channeled the deceased tiger—and, if he wasn’t running for president, there would be SF zoo that would pay for the wrongful death of a tiger!

“Hey Bob, is that wall 12 feet or 20 feet? Looks kinda short from here.”

“So, you wanna go in and measure it?”

“You’re right. Looks like 20 feet.”

Earlier this week, zoo officials said the moat's wall was at least 20 feet tall. Today they said it was little over 12 feet.

An examination of the tiger's body also revealed a significant amount of concrete in its back paws..

The minimum standard for a tiger enclosure is 16'-4".

SF zoo officials in huge trouble.

Deservedly so.

As a contractor, I know how hard it can be to pin a measurement down, sometimes we argue for hours, is it 12’ or 20 feet? I have seen grown men cry, it is soooo hard.
