The main question to ask is why this tiger was not put down a year ago when it nearly tore the arm off a zoo keeper?

Depends on the specifics. I’ve heard the Zoo keeper violated SOP when the incident occured.

Because it's a TIGER! What do we expect a toger to do, roll over and do tricks? They are master killers and carnivores.

What's at work here is a judgment by humans that the tiger was not at fault ~ rather, the keeper made a mistake and precipitated the event.

That particular judgment is totally devoid of what the event meant to the cat and how it affected her.

Now we know that she discovered that the humans come apart just like a joint of goat, and we see where that route takes her!

From the article regarding the arm incident: "The tiger was acting like a normal tiger".

So....

Besides, a tiger probably cost a pretty penny.

You'd pretty much have to put down every big cat, wolf, bear, et cetera if you were do adopt that stance. Most zoo animals are dangerous, which is why we keep them segregated from the public.

Because its a wild animal doing what wild animals do.

Siberian tigers are an endangered species. That might have violated the Endangered Species Act.

There's so much friggin' money in these endangered critters that you don't put them down easily. I believe I read that this particular cat was for "breeding". (That's where the money is).Wonder if the cat was on any meds?? Who knows? The rest of the world is.

Blame "man" first...and the money will keep flowing. Start thinking twice about holding these critters in cages and the money flow stops.

I simply don't believe in Zoos.
